How do they know it was he who was poached?..

@Rishi he vanished from the area so the most likely cause was poaching. If true that'd be extremely sad, not only because he was one of the few jaguars from that area of the Atlantic forest, but also because of his magnification build. Jaguars like him are essential for passing down genes in depleted populations.

@Rishi

There's no official confirmation of jaguars in Turvo being poached as of yet, The jaguars were arriving from Argentina through the Uruguaian river, Boreal male is said to be missing and there are 3 different jaguars on that post of @OncaAtrox Boreal, Boca Braba and Yabotí.

Bjørn-Einar Nilsen told me he photographed them more than 14 times and there are 5 different individuals in Turvo.

@OncaAtrox

He could've been poached but he could also have moved out, perhaps he got pushed out back to Argentina by either Yabotí or Boca braba or even by Turuna since they're still seen in that area.

Onças do Iguaçú told me in Iguaçú side Tarobá male (81kg) is the is dominant of the brazilian side whereas Croassant male (73kg) keeps going back and forth between both countries. I wonder if Floriano male rules the Argentinian side towards Proyecto Yaguareté area.

I'm hoping Croissant can be recaptured, he weighed 73 kg two years ago and he looks quite hefty now, could possibly be in the 90s range easily. All of these Atlantic males are in excellent condition which is a good sign for the biome.

@"OncaAtrox"

There are also the adult females that weight is unknown for us for both cerrado and atlantic forest.

From Caatinga we got one female verified.

Indira and Boyrá (new female in the area) would be good opitions.

Its a fact Crossoant is larger now. But the male jaguar I wanna see captured in those areas is Floriano. he means business.

Also guys check this one out, Zeus male from the same area as Coraje and Afrodita. Not the best quality picture (Panthera rarely releases the camera traps footage for some reason), but he's a tank:

Another picture of the Porto Jofre tank I posted some time ago. This jaguar is among the top 5 most impressive I have seen and it looks just as if not bigger than Adriano, huge shoulders, thick chest... I'm losing my mind not knowing more about him.
