There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I'm in the process of trying to get his dimensions disclosed and I'll update if I do.
That's right Joker estimated to be 6 years old is a very robust male and according to the Onçafari team he didn't even get a colar because his neck is so thick and also he is the healthiest male jaguar ever seen by Onçafari with no wounds neither scars. During his capture procedure no ectoparasites such as ticks and fly larvae were collected, as he lacked them and he has a very healthy dentition, showing that a male can squander health and live in a territory disputed by several jaguars without getting involved in conflicts.

with that info you got from onçafari that he is the largest male there in all dimensions surpassing even Sombra male and the info about his thick neck not being able to wear any colar it just makes me anxioulsly looking foward to know his measurements and weight. I really wanna know Houdini male's weight as well but he doesn't tolerate humans that much he got caught but unexpectedly escaped from the teams hands and he is very elusive.
good luck and keep us updated and most importantly lets prove the people who still doubt they aren't that big today that they actually ARE THAT BIG TODAY hehe.

Posted info in the measurements thread
Just imagine if we got those measurements just as detailed like the one you got on Joker male in all jags we post, that'd be amazing and definitely the game changer on modern days jags measurements/weight. By the way its good to see Hero male again on your post above.

And last but not least here is tip of a Zagaia one of the eldest weapon used in jaguars hunting in Brazil.
The hunting with the Zagaia in the past old times consists of cornering the big cat by trained dogs and waiting for the cat attack you by jumping straight at you and then in a fraction of secs you aim it at the cat and spear the tip of the Zagaia into the jag killing it.

Only a few had mastered that technique as well, it's described in detail in Sasha Siemel's book "Tigrero"
Great shots btw, only in the South are you able to get these up close shots on land.
In the north you are traveling by boat everywhere you go so you can only get them on the temporary sandbanks unless you get super lucky.

It might be, I'll ask Paulo.
Although his eye doesn't seem as bad here so I wonder if it's an older shot of him or a different male.
