The Mbiri Male lions are fathers now. One of the ross lioness has given birth. Mbiri Male Lions born 2013 are the offsprings of the 5 Matimba Male Lions (All matimbas were together in 2013/14) from the Mbiri pride...
 Junior Matimba is also a father. The Matimbas are officially Grandpas now. Reply

They might have made contact. We don’t know. They might have interacted with Mhangeni also..
Because we only spent few hours with them in a week and don’t know really what goes during the nights and the rest of the time.
A MalaMala ranger once told, if we don’t mention the name of an animal in our Updates, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t there. He could be there and we didn’t find him... We really spent very time with them. And they pass by majority of the time untracked. Reply

There must be an age-gap of 1.5-2 years between HB and Ginger. HB already has that old lion look but Ginger still looks good. Reply

There's very little videos of HB fighting though.  Majority of lion activity is at night under cover of darkness and thus difficult to follow, but it would be interesting to see what the results were of Majingilane and Matimba clashes when they were brushing up against each other back in the day.  Never did see much videos except for one where HB apparently caught DM alone but that's about it.  Suppose we assume the scars are from rival males though when they could just as well be from buffalo horns or scratches from coalition mates during tussles over female mating rights. Most scars are from females or from slaps of the brothers when is feeding time, this notion that the sacrs are from fights with rivals is exaggerated.

That's because there isn't, and that I'm aware of, those two never fought a 1 vs 1. 

There was one time where the two caught Dark mane alone because the fool chased them alone, and they gave him a beating until Golden mane arrived, but that's it. 

It's probably the most physical contact they ever had, because the rest of the time, the numbers the Majingilane had meant that a fight wasn't needed. Reply

Hear you on the scars.  Majority defo come from brothers.  Those lionesses get pretty ratty after mating too!

I had a look back through them again today and saw the one you mentioned with GM licking his wounds but nobody could give a true story on the numbers involved and what truly happened (like all lion confrontations) and aside from another video on londo blog with them running back and forth all day roaring.  There's another one of puncture wounds in DM chin but not sure if it's related to the same conflict or a separate one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KUeFeOUSgo Yep.  Those majingilanes were a solid unit.  They stuck together well and kept the matimbas at bay.
