Any raw event is a drug tested event, but that by no means proves they aren't on anything. To the contrary, you can almost guarantee they all are on something, they've just cycled off in time to pass. It's an old age trick of the game.

Yes, all events are drug-tested events, but Mark Henry claimed himself to be natural (and his strength was attributed to his major genetic mutations early in his life), yet I can easily tell that the rest of the strength athletes (even the near-strongest ones like Big Z, Mountain, Magnusson, Brian Shaw...) are drug-filled, either at the time of competition or not. I know this game as well: same happens in fighting competitions.

For starters, Henry was 225-pounds at 10 (more fat for his age), and by Freshman year of high school (with minimal training and still no drugs), he squatted 600 pounds. I heard of no other well-known strength athlete doing this at his age, especially without performance-enhancing drugs. Second, he didn't train specifically in the squat like Ray Williams did, or he would have easily reached even 1,100-pounds raw if he did. Henry trained equally in all lifts.

Now, some of these strength athletes did have genetic boosts. Brian Shaw with his extreme strength as a toddler (and height) is an example of this, and I even had a slight genetic boost over most kids my age when I was in my Elementary school years, regarding strength.

It is said that Brock Lesnar once claimed Kane as the strongest man in WWE after an arm-wrestling match, but that is just arm-wrestling. I am pretty sure that Brock is stronger than Kane mainly in terms of explosive power (except picking up and slamming 500-pound Big Show).

@Pckts,

Actually speaking about human strength in general, just a few minutes ago I was speaking to a fellow bodybuilding-strongman, and during our conversation about strongman comp he remarked that a 400-pound strongman like The Mountain's size or taller should pull at least 2000-pounds, and that a person half his weight should pull 1000-pounds. This is horizontal pulling, not deadlift. I disagreed completely and gave him examples of strongmen at his described weights not being able to do the feats he presented.

Thoughts?

What type of "pull" and how far?

Like a sled or chain drag or a truck pull?
Most likely they aren't  pulling a 2000lb sled or chain but something with tires on it, they can easily pull that weight.

They're a great work out, we have a 300lb one at our gym and we just chain plates on to the last link to add weight.

He was a freak of nature in his prime, that is for sure.

Check out Terron Beckham




He's the cousin of the famous wide receiver, Odel Beckham Jr. He's an extremely explosive athlete.

What is this guy made of that will allow him to deadlift 405 one-handed? With both hands, I can do 550-pounds max (dropped from 625 to 550 due to lack of lifting) now, and when I was in my deadlifting prime, I could only do 355 one-handed. Consider that I focused mainly on powerlifting at the time and he is focusing on football-related conditioning and lifting skills, so that's a near-Superman feat right there!
