There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
He did manage to walk. That is something. Walking is the lifeline for a lion.
Earlier it was believed he was just laying at the same spot or even death.
Right now he is just living from meal to meal. Scavenging. Stealing from leopards and cheetah etc.
Waiting until the bigger healthier lions are done with a kill and hoping there is something left to eat.
He may, depending on his luck linger on a long time like this. If he really wins the jackpot, he keeps finding enough to prevent his body from metabolizing itself and perhaps heal a bit so he can have some more quality of life and start hunting again. But he has to be realistic and give up on anything more than that. He is in no shape to fight.

What a determined lion! Pushing his body as far as it can go. Trying every trick he has in his vast experience to stay alive. What he has done is very admirable. Almost unbelievable.
But where is his partner? Has he helped his dad in any way since the assault?
He still can. He still would be very helpful to Nhenha.
Even to lead the PC males away from him would be priceless help.

If he can bump onto NK and NK doesn't abandon him, a good, big meal would give him the strength to keep following his partner and eating what he kills.

Even if they meet after the fight, which we dont know if they did, there is not much NK can do for him if Nhenha cant follow him.
Lion bringing other lion food to save him, or something similar is fairy tail, if lion is too weak or injured to follow his pride/coalition, he will die, thats about it.

Some of the first lesions a young cub learns is that a pride has to keep moving. Not doing so means that the herds will move away from you and predators or rivals will catch up with you.
They cant afford to wait around for a sick member to get better. Its up to him or her to keep up.
The same applies now. Its not like Nym can just drag a kill all across the reserve.
I concur. I have seen some cases of Lions displaying the act of helping eachother with food, but only if indeed the Lion in bad health is able to keep up and stick around.
Not sure if there are any local guides or the like on here who have hands on experience in the area, but if so, how far is it from Ulasaba to Dulini? Would it be around 50 miles? Would you expect a lion who was about to drop dead walk that sort of distance prior?
The boy in my opinion is demonstrating something very special
Tinyo and Nhenha's bond was much stronger than this bond with his son, the Nkuhuma.
I cannot imagine Nhenha abandoning his brother for long without coming back to check on him.
Perhaps Tinyo would have done the same for Nhenha.
Good coalition partners typically stick together better and actually prefer a slowdown to being alone.

How many theories in this thread..........
Just let him to recover OR go in peace if he will...we would see it, but totally unnecessary to create so much fantasy or "probability" about the sufferies of a legendary old male lion...

I agree, I think instead of discussing theories about his survival, we should actually wait to see what ends us happening.

Agree with you bro. For some folks, he would've been dead by now. Who knows what will happen, we only see a fraction of what's really going on and lions' interactions.

Also agree with you bro. It is always interesting to hear other's theories, predictions and have respectfull arguments/discussioins.

Nhenha - WARRIOR
Not gonna lie, reading of his passing would've been much more preferable than seeing him in this kind of condition, for me at least. Don't know what the future holds for him, but if it's the end, then hopefully it doesn't linger long for the old boy.
