I think Othawas are starting to see Scar (maybe Limper aswell) as dead weight.. They dont have any "benefits" from him, but he is taking their share of food.. he prob doesnt participate in hunts, doesnt patrol, in their 'eyes" he is not dominant male and protector as Skorro Jr, because he is too weak for that..he only follows them for food at this point most likely..

Lions do feel that kind of stuff..

I know a lot of people think that lions will "help" their injured/ill partner/siblings etc., but i didn't find that, if you are weakest, you will eat last and will get beaten up if you cant show power and get respect from others.. Thats how it is..

I remember that i got "assaulted" pretty hard when Scar showed those bite marks on his legs few months ago, i said it might be from Skorro in a scrap, some guys where saying its impossible that brother or pride would try to maul him, that it was hyenas..

Now we see it was prob not hyenas, yet Skorro and Othawas in a scrap just like it was few days ago..

I guess it was indeed Tsalala in a fight vs Othawa Aunty, alot of claw marks around her neck and head area:

The healthy member of the Tumbela males will spread their genes within the nearby prides soon as they can. He has already started to mated with the Tsalala female. His size is fantastic, big and bulky. Hopefully the Tsalala females will stick around and won't be caught by the Othawa females.

I just hope Limper can start putting on size and mane growth, I don't see them lasting long with only one healthy male

Well, we obiviously dont know who can come from Kruger at any point, but this whole situation which started with death of OM and Mhangenis being without dominant coalition, and now especially with death of Styx male, is very beneficial for Tumbelas.

Their only pot "threat" are 2 PC boys, but with death of Styx, even if they return towards west, its highly unlikely they would challenge Tumbelas now when their rivals for ex OM territory and Mhangenis are pretty much gone..

So if situation stays like this, Tumbelas are in pretty good spot atm.

I agree that lion society is completely built on hierarchy and dominance/submission, but this is a bit extreme. When Ginger was dying of mange i don't think any of the females outright attacked him. Neither did HB. Sizanani is the perfect example of a brother who "took care" of his brother who honesty was a lot worse than Limper. When they were dominant over the Koppies Pride for a bit, he never attacked or fought with him.

Stumpy tail Talamati- another example where the mother waited for and helped her disabled daughter. Even this is unusual since lionesses would usually just abandon a cub that couldn't walk.

I don't think Scorro or the Othawas are bad lions.. i think this is just on the extreme end of aggression. Like Scar wasn't even near them and they ran at him--- I've seen nomads treated better. Really sad for Scar but it's the way it'll be for him I guess.

Well obiviously not all lions are the same..

Also, these kind of things prob happened a lot more then it was reported and witnessed..

We seen Kambula beat the hell out of Nsuku for apperantly no reason when he was still believed to be healthy..

We also seen Tinyo beat Nsuku when he was in very weak state, he died few weeks after, Nsuku was also staying aside and for no reason Tinyo attacked him, ofc it was display of dominance near females, just like Skorro Jr. did now.. Nsuku prob got beaten few times more, as he was always seen feeding last, competing with cubs for bones and leftovers..in the end he was seen with very nasty injuries, prob caused by Kambulas or his brothers..

So this kind of things can happen.

There often are a lot of factors in play. Just think of food, cubs, stress, sexual arousal, exhaustion and the personalities of the lions themselves. A bad combo can turn a minor scuffle into a blood bath.
And they did eventually decide to spare him.

Ultimately these are real living beings. They are capable of incredible loyalty and compassion. But the downside of that is that there probably also a few Ted Bundy or Ed Gein lions among them.

Is it 100% sure that it was Scar that got attacked by the pride?

Its either Scar or Limper. It could have been an outsider, but it would be hard, not to mention suicidal for a outsider lion to approach a pride like that.
