Those screenshots are in moderator thread, I check if I can find from there, I don´t have not time to make new, I have to go in a few minutes, some work to do. But if Khan asks from Jhala, he will get same information now too.

@woshiniya
And what comes to bear fan, for sure I´m a bear fan, and lion fan, and tiger fan, and jaguar fan, and wolf fan.... anyone can name some animal and I am fan, there is no reason to doubt it :) I recently had one bear fan to practically hate me, because I defended tigers to him (not in youtube though). He couldn´t discuss in any reasonable way, when bear wasn´t seen as some superior being over tigers. And I´m sure, that some tiger fans dislike me, because I have been very critical to some claims concerning tigers. I suggest reading what I write in different threads. I usually criticize when something controversial is approached from only one point of view like it would be the only possibility.

But what comes to this case, I just tell what was told to me, adding nothing.

I don't want to argue about it.Khan85 didn't get any information about stomach content of the tiger from Jhala ,I doubt you for another reason, you said you contacted with Russia expert Batalov, and he sent some tiger pictures to you,But I heard from another forum that batalov's personal contact information is not on the Internet 3 months ago ,They don't believe you too,and someone think you mistook batalov's assistant or someone else for batalov himself.
,how to explain this? I am not aiming at you,I only believe in evidence even if the claim is a tiger fun, please understand.

MT-3 of Mukundra weighed 243 kg in March 2020 (4 yo) when he was treated for maggot wounds.

Upon his death in July 2020, his weight dropped to 192 kg (a drastic fall of 51 kg) and he was found to have some disease which caused lumps to form in his body, particularly in the heart.

After inquiring for the 285 kg tiger, even I had written to him regarding the data that he has from various other captures. But because I didn't receive any reply, I decided not to disturb him as it is rude and annoying and he may stop answering future emails. Also because he said that he cannot access his data and office because of COVID lockdown.

Batalov is difficult person to have contact with. I know it from first hand experience since I had to do a lot if work to manage to do it. Some things aren't easy. I was lucky enough to change a few emails In 2019 and it was interesting. I know that some people won't believe it, but I don't mind. My main reason to find information is my personal curiosity to know how things really are, not to convince all fanatics In different forum, it's not possible and not worth to use time. No problems with you, but as said, call me fan of any species and I'm guilty as charged? One day I can praise bears, another leopards and tomorrow tigers or lions, they are all worth it and none more important than another In the end. Sorry if typos, I write with mobile phone now and no time to triple check.

According to 2 Russian journalists who personally interviewed Batalov, Batalov told them that the tiger 'Ochkarik' killed and ate the huge male brown bear 'Chlamid'. Now you claim that you contacted Batalov back in 2019, ( despite it being very hard to do ) where he supposedly told you that the huge bear 'Chlamid' was last seen in the Winter of 2018. But you haven't shown any proof of this.

Can you at least post the evidence showing that you did indeed speak with Batalov, and show us the screen-shot of the conversation where he supposedly told you this?  To clear some things up.

Or you can give his contact info ( email ) so he can be contacted and asked about this particular account?

This is off the topic, so I just briefly tell, that what Batalov told to me in July 2019 is in complete contradiction with those newspaper articles and that´s why I don´t take those articles too seriously at all.

Corbett told many stories, which weren´t exactly true, Batalov is mentioned in some occasions as a man with a lot of stories, maybe he is a bit like Corbett if he suddenly 2021 "remembers" something he didn´t remember two years earlier concerning incident which happened in late 2017. I can´t blame him if so, making up some nice story, even though if not exactly true isn´t anything in comparison with his great work in conservation of tigers. Same as with Corbett, some entertaining stories, even when untrue or exaggerated a lot have to be forgiven, when looking at all good things he did.

I can share some screenshots later in some other thread, but not in this one, when I have better time. I shared some already back in 2019, at least to other moderators if not publicly, so long time already, but it can be, that I showed screenshots only to moderators.

Edit. Ps. With newspaper articles there is always that possibility, that reporter has had some "color pencil" when writing article. Many articles have been with inaccuracies in closer look and even totally wrong information. Difficult to say sometimes.

Your comparing a British hunter, tracker and author ( Corbett ) who wrote popular literature books, to a renowned scientific expert, biologist and conservationist like Batalov, who's published over 40 scientific studies on tiger behaviour and sustainable forestry, and is the director of the Durminskoye Forest Reserve. Thats a bad comparison.

And its not just one, but TWO different Russian journalists who interviewed Batalov both reported that Ochkarik killed and ate Chlamid. This means Batalov clearly reported this account twice. And there's also a 3rd article reporting this account. How comes?

You should contact Batalov, send him those reports and ask him why he said that?

I received Dr. Ullas Karanth's book, "Hulirayana Akashavani" (translation - Tiger Radio-collaring)

Unfortunately, the book is in Kannada language which is a regional language spoken in Southern India (where Dr. Karanth is from) so I am having a difficult time trying to translate.
I'll keep posting as I find new information worth sharing.

#1. Capture of T-04 aka Mara

pp. 101 to 105

The clock cared - 9.07 A.M. That is, within five minutes of my departure, the tiger caught prey. The tiger is likely not to go that far. Thus the traders did not need to chase the tiger. Chinnappa asked the team to be quiet. Although I only saw the tiger a few times, my aim was correct

I was sure it had reached the base. The trailmen took out the syringe which had been ripped from the tiger's thigh. The syringe was empty. This proved that the drug was inside the tiger's body. Now we have to find the tiger. There is a life - threatening danger when researchers search for a darted tiger. None of my team members here have such anxiety. We need to find the tiger now. Under the direction of Chinnappan, team members sought out the traces of the tiger. A trail of thick bedding and hardwood in the dryer can detect! But neither the Chinnappan's trailblazer, there is a leaf litter, a finger tiger in the dust - so that all the signs that are incomprehensible to the rest are clearly visible to them. Anesthesia can cause the tiger's hind legs to lose control of the body. Tiger gets to the ground without being able to move on the front legs. We checked whether the mud had crossed the road towards the tiger toll, or if it had crossed back into the forest. Suddenly, there was a shout. Raju is shocked that something tragic has happened before he can convince us that he is Raju voice came from the forest - "Tiger tangle sir!" Everybody rushed to the sound of the tiger, sitting on a tree and observing the movements of the tiger. This is not the same as Raju Hederupa, who never went back. The first time I anesthetized a tiger in Nagarahole.

Sunquist was with us then. Our team members were only twenty meters away when they and I and Chinnappa were testing the tiger. Despite repeated calls, even though the summoner repeatedly called that there is no danger, they did not come close ! Despite being anesthetized, the tiger did not appear to be fully immobilized. When it landed, its orange eyes were full and staring. The illusion must be born now and then to leave. Anesthetic is a ' dissociative anesthetic ' so that the tiger is inactive but does not look dull and the eye is wide open. The tiger rolls over its tongue. None of my trafficking shepherds would come near the darted tiger. I, Sunquist, Chinnappa and Subbayya are the only ones who have been involved in tiger care. Subbayya is a disciplined planter who, like the cowboy of British times, is a believer in Chinnappan. But none of our twelve remaining members of the faith came near the tiger! At the base there was only the co operation of a strong - willed, tiger mustache guard. Once the tiger is anesthetized and sleeps, there will be a hundred jobs. The body of the tiger must be kept water cooled. The chest, spray, body measure, weight this tiger wound treatment ... " Come and do nothing"... Came ten thousand feet before us, and one step of them came nearer to death. Twelve people flew in all directions ! The young tree bends down and touches the ground like a rainbow , and the sight of the five young men gazing blankly at the sight of where they came from is a spectacular sight ! This story of Zindu reminded him that all the traders were laughing and joking about their own charm. The excitement of the tiger now had lightened the burden of everyone's body. But the work is not over here. We needed work to be done. Since the tiger is our fourth capture, everybody is well convinced of their specific task. Everybody got into skittering. It was a huge male tiger, which Chinnappan named ' Mara'. Mara is the Kannada name for the love goddess Sundararanga Manmatha. But I remember the explanation given by Chinnappan for the name 'Mara'. " When I was a young boy, there was a sturdy two - year - old in our village, Mara was his name. When I saw this tiger, I wrote down the size of his tiger body on the information form, with the head and body length being 189 cm, Tail length 100 cm, Total 289 cm . Similarly for the head , chest circumference , etc.

How can a I lift the weight of a tiger ? We have to weigh Mara. We must use all our manpower for this. All our team members are farmers. We layed the tiger on a net made of thin nylon fishbone. The net was wrapped around the tiger, leaving only the tail tapping out. The hangar was fastened with a plastic rope, and the end of the rope was fastened to a large stinging bracket. We fastened the two ends of the sash to a thick wooden rope and hung the rope into the rings. All at once, the people raised their hands and raised the tiger one inch from the ground! Mara is a massive tiger who weighs 250 kilograms. When the tiger didn't wake up throughout the day, it is not advisable to let the sun go down and cool it again. Nanjappa gave Mara another anesthetic. Mara's mouth opened and I examined his teeth. Each tiger's teeth tell a history of its life. Tigers less than eleven months have milk teeth. These teeth are not as sturdy as bay teeth. As they grow older, their hard teeth come. Milk teeth fall out. By the age of 18 months, tigers have sturdy teeth. During the first few years of tiger puberty, its teeth are very sharp. Pinkish tint to fine white teeth. The tiger who are very old, have lost, eroded and severely shredded teeth. Fighting with others also cause a tooth fracture. Gradually the yellow moss accumulates on the tooth and turns brown. If we capture a young tiger, its neck will not reach full maturity.

Sunquist had shown us the radio collar and cut it into two pieces and the rivets between the other two strips. As a young tiger grows, so does its neck circumference. Gradually the rhythm of the ringed eel will gradually rust and the leather bar will decay.

However, Mara wasn't fully grown, his teeth were white, sharply powered. Not a tooth was broken. By the time he reached the age of three to four, I had reasoned that he would need a large collar to wear. Rivette was adjusted to fit around Mara's neck. While the radio collar should be tied to the tiger's neck, the animal should not in any way be unpleasant, and should not interfere with other natural activities such as eating and swallowing. I saw the collar tucked between a slit. The radio antenna, which is the collar of the tiger, and the signals are embedded in the back of the collar. The radio transmitter is placed inside a pistol metal container with waterproof resin on the outside. We don't want to lose the collar due to the fact that the tigers like water! The mark 'T - 04' has been marked with special black ink, on Mara . It is the mark of Mara being the fourth of the tigers we captured in Nagarahole.

(Mara was repeatedly captured in camera traps)

After reading this, it doesn't seem like Mara had eaten anything before being weighed. As Dr. Karanth wrote, the tiger took the bait less than 5 minutes after they left, and as soon as they were informed, they returned to dart the tiger who went on a marathon while half sedated.

#2. Capture of T-01 aka Madhuka

My work was made easier by the presence of Ranjit Sinha. He gave scientific permission without delay. In October 1989, Mel Sunquist arrived in town with his wife Fiona. Chinnappa was also with us when discussing the pros and cons of research. In Chitwan, Nepal. it was a follow up on his study of Radio Telemetry Research here  It was decided to do so. But the conditions here need to be analyzed in Nagarahole before they can really follow Nepal's model. There is no forest in the forests of Nepal. Still need to be carried out very carefully.  Forests are plentiful in Nagarahole. Thus, activities are being pursued by different techniques in different parts of the world to catch tigers: trap, snare, encircling and bait. Since there are plenty of wild animals in the cobra, the tiger cannot be attracted to a small thing. The start of the study was guided by expert experts such as Sunquist. Sunquist was with us when we captured the first three tigers. Thus our tiger-catching journey went smoothly.

As a daily routine, on the morning of January 7, 1990, we set out to find buffalo calves tied up in a variety of forests. On the way to the toll from Nagarahole, a calf was killed by a tiger. Immediately under the leadership of Chinnappan, the task of spreading the curtains of the garment was soon completed. I climb a tree in the direction of the tiger. Everything just happened as we counted. A huge tiger passed across the trail in front of me. The anesthetic potion I tossed using the dartgun was injected into its shoulder. The tiger looked back at the dart site. Then I saw another side of it. There was a large scar on the right shoulder. The tiger crossed the tree where I was standing, leaving the cloth curtains and leaving the tree behind. Chinnappa was also informed of the injury I had seen on the tiger.  When we looked at the tiger, we realized how serious the wound was. This tiger is a huge animal, weighing 230 kilos. But it is already in its senescence. It is reasoned that its age is at least 12-13 years. The teeth were quite corrosive. One eye was blind.  Most recently, a fierce fight with another tiger gave a serious injury to its shoulder.

(A huge gash on T-01's shoulder and corroded teeth and blind eye)

There were so many mites that it was sore. Now we have a dilemma. Does this tiger need a radio collar? The tiger was not even hospitalized. The central government has allowed us to safely leave the tiger with a radio collar. Once a tiger is caught, a veterinarian who is with us can do the preliminary treatment and leave the forest again. We did the same thing. The question of moral dualities does not arise in nature. Veterinarians used ointment and antibiotic powder to treat the tiger's wound. I was convinced that the tiger, with such severe injuries, could not live for many days. But it seemed that the radio collar could share last days of his life. As the tiger treads on the anesthesia, as mentioned earlier, Raju and the rest of the trail frighten away and weigh in on the tree. This is not the only scenario that shocked him, but gradually the traders said that the tiger was really aware. And when the tiger catches it, do not say his courage. The tiger treatment began to take place sooner than necessary. Joining us in our work, starting with tail dragonflies and eavesdropping on them, we waited there until the tiger was reinstated with a radio collar.

Upon leaving, we headed back to the camp. But it was sad that the first tiger could not live long enough for the radio collar. I followed the radio signals in the days following the tiger, T-01. We named 'Grumpy'. The tiger was running around, but its hunting skills were striking. Chinnappan had brought a buffalo to the jungle where he had died in a motor accident. The tiger was found eating the carcass. But without the power of hunting, this tired tiger could not live long without food. My intention was to record how the tiger maintains its base in old age, how it is used, and how it changes. Another point to note is that weak tigers lose their ability to hunt and rarely develop cannibalism. If 'Grumpy' is turned into a cannibal, he must be found. If so, we thought that his radio collar would provide excellent signals. The day after the radio collar was introduced to Madhuka, I wrote a letter to the chief wildlife guard, M. K. Appiah and explained the situation. In this letter, I made it clear that the tiger could live for another two months.

On 27 March 1990, Mudhuka lay dead in a cord tree in Shantapur. He was finally free from starvation.

There's also interesting info on collared leopards and apparently a male leopard of 70 kg. I'll post that in the relevant thread.

ah so collaring young tigers does limit their neck growth..that's exactly what happened with matkasur's son chota matka

This tiger is not only on an empty stomach but also very lean. It is obviously in a very bad state. It is likely that it was squeezed by other male tigers and lost territory and food shortages led to an attack on humans. In addition, according to the previous Corbett tiger measurement video, I think modern Bengal tigers Your body size measurement may not be accurate
