More shots of the dominant kinky tailed old Birmingham male at Ngala Reserve from September, 2012. Seen here mating with what is likely a Birmingham female as one of the subadults was nearby. Images by Bill Mahoney.

List of males that Nhenha/Tinyo chased out/beat of their territory since they become duo is getting quite impressive.. Nwaswitshaka males, OM, N. Avocas, 2 unknown young males, Plains Camp males and now NK/Styx, and thats only what was reported and seen.
These guys dont know defeat, because of that their confidence is very high, but that might be dangerous in the future, chasing 1 vs 2 and 1 vs 3 (As Tinyo did vs Nwaswitshakas) might be quite dangerous in future as those young males around them get older and bolder..
Regardless, old boys still showing their power and why they are getting closer to their 6th year as kings..

Neither of this coalition really tryed to challange Birminghams for their lands tho back then. I feel true test for Birminghams is yet to came.

Its not BBoys fault that in 5-6 years no males dare to challenge them and all run away, they are doing their job and keeping their territory clean, if they didnt chase those males on time, they would definitely try to challenge them, they showed their strenght immidiately..
Birminghams are out of their prime years (Nhenha still looks good, but age is showing on Tinyo and he is definitely not in prime anymore) so if they lose territory in future, you could argue they are out of their prime years and old males, 10-11 yrs atm..
So speaking about "their true test" in their 11th or more year is nonsense..

THeoreticly I agree with seeing Birminghams as favourites in 2vs2 against any other Sabi Sands coalition althrough from the other side there were already such upsets in the past like S. Matimbas vs Matshapiris or Old Avocas vs Thanda Impis so different thinks can happen. It could be that we give more credit to Birminghams than we should or maybe other coalitions in SS are more capable than we presume.

There is no doubt that prime Tinyo and Nhenha are favorable against any other 2 males in Sabi Sands atm, but they are not in the prime anymore as they are getting old, so that might be a problem..
