The 1th Mantimahle BOSS"CHARCOAL" - Getting eye level with one of the biggest male lions in the Sabi Sands. He is one of four male lions that dominates a large territory in the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sands, what an amazing experience seeing him from this perspective.

The BOSS"CHARCOAL" - This lion had been stalking an injured buffalo for half an hour. The buffalo, however was too strong for this lion to take on its own. One of the five Mantimahle male lions (3th Orange mane) Four of the Mantimahle boys has lost much mane during the past last year,except the 5th which only lost on his forehead and not all around as the other four bros, however, the recent sighting of them, all four were with a very quite nice mane!

old Mazithi males - Mantimahle fathers Fathers of the Mantimahle males. "Taken in Feb 2015. My last photo of the Mazithi Pride Males. They still controlled the pride but only just. They were deposed shortly after this photo was taken. They ruled and protected the pride for about 10 years. A very long time for pride males. They sired many many male cubs but strangely not many female cubs. They gave me many photographic opportunities.

Guest were treated this morning to some of the largest male lions Kruger has to offer. In fact 5 of them!
Over the last few months these males have been moving deeper and deeper into Kirkman's Kamp. One can only assume while they are increasing the size of their territory they are also in the search for some females.
With a couple of buffalo bulls not far from where we left them, guests a could be in for an interesting evening.
