There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

A coalition of 2 males from Kruger, they where seen close to Tshokwane last year, they became dominant over Fourways pride somewhere around mid 2019, so the older subadults are not theirs, they are either of Torchwoods male Hairy Belly (seen with the pride towards the end of 2018 and early 2019, left the pride with 2 Fourways young males east into Kruger) or 5th Mantimahle (seen with the pride in April 2019).
Their origins are unknown, but they are very skittish, not used to vehicles, so they prob came from area in Kruger where vechicles are not that common..
They might control some more pride/s further east, because other "Smudge Nosed" male is not seen that often with Fourways pride as this one is..
So they become dominant earlier than i think at first, because there was report of 5th Mantimahle with Fourways pride in April 2019, but that prob wasnt Fourways pride, yet Plains Camp pride..
And Torchwood male was seen with 2 Fourways young males in Kruger at H10 road in January 2019,so this males prob chased them away:

So its most likely that majority of Fourways cubs/subadults are from this 2 males, maybe except few, i think i saw 1 older young male who might be from Torchwoods male..

I think that goes for majority of young males, 1 out of 8 male cubs on average reach the point of being territorial or in other words "kings"..
Its always sad to see when young males vent missing, or they die/get killed, but majority of young males dont survive that nomadic phase, unless you are in big coalitions like 4 or more strong, then chances of surviving are much bigger..
