I dont know the date of the pic but there were originally 4 Skutane males that were dominant around 2000-2004 over the Skutane/Clarendon pride of Djuma and Northern Mala Mala. Djuma called them Skutane or Skutani pride/Mala Mala never mentioned the males by name but called the Skutane pride the Clarendon pride. They were seen with the pride and cubs as were the original 4 Split Rock/Robson males so both coalitions accepted the cubs and believed the cubs to be theirs. The last Skutane male died in 2004 and the pride moved east into KNP and never returned.

Correction, the Skutane males were dominant over the Skutane/Clarendon pride but were also seen mating with the Styx lionesses and the Styx females were also seen with the Split Rock males, so both coalitions thought the Styx cubs were theirs.

Words from Photographer. Sighting was 29th April. One of the gravel roads between Skukuza and Nkhulu picnic. From what I know There was another female lion or 2 with cubs but it was thick bush and they started fighting and this male walked into the road to lie down. And then we tried to look for the females with cubs but we couldn’t see anything. And I’m not sure but I think there was another male lion with those females.

Hello my friends.
I will take advantage of this thread to ask if these lions are the same male, or coalition partners? I knew there were two S90 males right? He/they look impressive:
