This is taken by the camera monitoring tigers. In 2018, they were taken by the same camera. It can be seen that bheem's neck is much thicker than jobhi's, which explains why bheem's son's neck circumference is so large

Neither weight is special for a cat of that age.
For instance, Chota Matka and Tara Chan weighed in at 162 and 173kg before the age of 2 and their mother and father are smaller. Also I’m curious where you got the weight and measurements from?

Tigers of that age (juvenile, 1-2 years old) generally weigh 50-120 kg (Dr. Jhala and Dr. Sadhu, 2017) so 159 kg and 165 kg is definitely above average. Source of these weights is the same pdf of tiger measurements in Panna, other body measurements were 190 cm and 187.5 cm head-body length, respectively.

I just provided two sub 2 year old cats that exceeded that weight with neither being especially large. Also we still need confirmation on these alleged weights because to my knowledge Chota Bheem and his siblings have never been captured.
Then you have cats like Bhima and BMW’s son who were 225kg at 2.5 and MB2 who was 195kg at a little over 2. Generally any cat that is going to reach 220kg plus is going to need to be close to 200kg by the age of 2.

Not entirely sure if these juvenile tigers were bheem´s sons or not but they were captured in 2014 so not from the litter of chota bheem. Bhima and Baghin nala´s son were 225 kg at 2.5 yo which is an year older than these two from Bandhavgarh, even MV2 would be around 8 months older. During this time (age 1 - 4) tigers are growing very fast and considering that they are around 40 kg more than an average tiger during that age, they can certainly hit those marks in an year.

T-01
Head-Body length = 190 cm
Total length = 282 cm
Neck circumference = 76 cm
Chest circumference = 106.4 cm

T-02
Head-Body length = 187.5 cm
Total length = 288.5 cm
Neck circumference = 74 cm
Chest circumference = 124 cm

Juveniles (1 to 2 years)

¨...Tigers at this stage are roughly half the size of their mothers (about the size of a leopard, 50 - 120 kg)¨

Subadults (>2 to 3 years)

¨...They are almost as large as adults... in exceptional cases, sub-adult male tigers can weigh upto 200 kg and female tigers up to 120 kg in 30 months.¨

No reason they can’t hit the 220kg plus mark. Also I’m assuming those were taken over the curves?

But Chota Matka and his brother were only a few months older than these two and weighed slightly more but certainly don’t have comparable genetics as both their mother and father are smaller Tigers. It’s safe to assume that if those measurements were accurate and over the curves, those two would be good sized Tigers, no doubt about it.
But again, I’d like to get a little more info on who actually captured and measured them before I take it as fact.

He’s quoting Schaller and Smuts. We’ve already seen Tigers and Lions larger than that at a younger age. But obviously those are the larger tiered specimens.

Yes, the measurements were taken over curves. They were captured and measured by the same vet who captured the tiger in panna tiger reserve.

I think those two were captured for human-tiger conflict

Maybe for juveniles but for subadults it says ¨Y.V. Jhala, unpublished data¨ next to it.

And Smuts had the most intricate and large data base.

Overall, those tigers mentioned will be large individuals but nothing we haven’t seen before.
That’s to be expected since their genes are good.

Different individuals mature at different rates. Just like humans (and other mammals). Take the 2 huge sons of P141 from Panna. They are 18-19 months old and are bigger than most in their age group. Doesn’t mean it will translate to adulthood.

Another example of this is Chota Bheem and his brother Pujari male. For the first 4 years, everyone was sure Chota Bheem was the bigger of the two. Now, look at Pujari male. He is a late bloomer.

This is taken by the camera monitoring tigers. In 2018, they were taken by the same camera. It can be seen that bheem's neck is much thicker than jobhi's, which explains why bheem's son's neck circumference is so large
