Many stated that tiger, TJ, was 700 lbs. I emailed them to get verification, and they said he was 350 lbs. Will show the email soon (dont have the pic saved to this computer yet).

Its not an unusual weight for tigers, the general weight for studbook specimens being about 400 lbs or so.

Thanks bro, he looked big to me too, though, but was always curious about his real weight. Don't know who gave the estimate of 700 lbs. Its mentioned everywhere.

People want big cats (especially tigers) to be gigantic.  They don't realize how big a 400 pound cat really is.

Hi bold, or brentlion, it's me Sulayman.

I think those estimates came from another tiger from big cat rescue named shere khan who weighed at around 700lbs.

Shere Khan is the biggest tiger in Big Cat Rescue but i didn't know that he was actually weighed! Also they did not weighed Shere Khan properly and the methods they are using how to weighing a big cats is wrong, he can weigh more though...

An animals weight in captivity shows its potential for weight when all of its dietary needs are met without much effort.  An animal struggling to eek out an existance would no doubt weigh less than one living in the lap of luxury.  That is why people lose weight when on "Naked and Afraid."
