@Roflcopters
Apparently he's been expanding more and more...

Pranjita Barman
Presenting T46 from Kanha National Park, one of the biggest tiger that I have personally seen. An extremely shy male who can go to any extent to escape the tourists gypsies. On this occasion, we got him after patiently waiting for him for over 2 hours on a cold winter morning. Many thanks to our naturalist Naren Malik, for without him this sighting would not have been possible.

Pranjita Barman Vincent I have been informed that T46 has ousted Garhi/T50. In fact T46 was seen mating with MB3 a couple of times.

About his size...

Pranjita Barman Thank you. I would say he is huge but not like Uma male. The head size is much smaller than Uma. In fact head size is smaller than CM too. Though otherwise his size is closer to CM. The sighting happened in Mukki zone. Exact location I understand shdnt be shared in social media.

Being CM sized, I don't think he'll want a confrontation with Uma but it may be inevitable, if he did push out CM then he's not one to take lightly, that's for sure.
We can probably expect another fight coming up, Mukki is getting lively again.

No, Naren said their cubs are alive and well, she took him further off out of their territory.

Ya, that is him.
This was his photos when he first entered his territory last season

Apparently he's back for round 2... Umarpani is looking big and strong right now and so is he, so this should be interesting.

you know what else is weird, apparently she was the one that went into his territory which he shares w/his mate, MV3 but she didn't go there to mate, I wonder what her intentions are?

Had a beautiful safari in Kanha this morning!
Got to see Male (T46) and female (T31) tigers. Initially, looking at the behavior of both of them, and the way they were sitting, we thought that it might be courtship ritual, but when they really came close to each other and the interaction between them - the way she started growling at him and started walking away from him - made it clear that they were just there for sometime and there was no courtship between them!
When she started walking away, he followed her for some time but within few minutes, both of them started walking away from each other, they went off in almost opposite directions. #togersofinstagram #tigersofcentralindia #tigersofindia #tiger #kanhanationalpark #kanha #animalbehavior #mp #banjaartola #tajsafaris #safari #wilderness #wild #wildlife #wildlifevideography #nature #nationalgeographic #natgeoyourshot #natgeowild #natgeotraveller #natgeotravel #bbc #bbcwildlife #bbctravel #bbcnature #videooftheday #naturelovers #lovefornature #catvideosofinstagram #videoofinstagram @ Kanha Tiger Reserve

Considering CM is capable of handling his own against Umarpani, T46 is definitely not a male to underestimate. he took care of Garhi and possibly working his way up by sending CM out of Mukki. Umarpani will be hard for him to score, i still wouldn’t count T46 out. he has earned his stripes so far imho. CM is my favorite tiger over all, probably my top 3 overall in India and i would love to see him around for much longer. fingers crossed. Thanks Pckts.

It was when he was in the area last season that Uma was sighted with that wound.

You mean presently? ...or has none of Uma's cubs ever survived till adulthood? I don't really follow the bloodlines closely.

@Rage2277 @Pckts don’t you think Mukki range and Tadoba range are more or less in same sort of turmoil. dominant females have a very low rate of raising their cubs to full maturity because of the heavy traffic of different males constantly paroling around. this dramatically effects the dominant males ability to pass their genes to the next generation. just look at Tadoba range for example, Matkasur has been around for almost as long as Khali and Bajrang. Khali has sired over 25 cubs, Bajrang is sitting at around 40 cubs. Matkasur on the other hand, not even 10. let’s compare the females now, Choti tara and Maya have been dominant for more than half a decade and yet, they don’t compare with the number of cubs that Madhuri, Sonam or Kuhani have sired. all of them have been around for the same duration. It’s just the number of transient males they face in their territories. in a lot of ways, Dj and Choti Mada are comparable to Choti Tara and Maya, same way i feel about Matkasur male and Umarpani male. you would think that one of the most notorious male would have a high rate of raising cubs but almost all of Umarpani’s cubs don’t make it to adulthood.

well so far the only cub sired by him i know of is his daughter with choti mada which pckts said still lives..maybe he has cubs somewhere with an unknown female but it seems like he can't catch a break.

When this young male just 4 years old, rightly called M1 came out into the open, he was too close and too huge to fit in my camera frame. A true king in the making, already bearing scars of skirmishes over territory. What a presence!

Now the big male known as T50 has been seen in Umarpanis territory, it looks like Mukki is getting interesting again.

The Child at Heart.

He is no ordinary tiger. He was an aggressive male tiger who ruled vast expanses of Pench, defeating prime males, for many years. He alone ruled much of the tourism area for more than seven years. He's a humongous tiger and is known to be one of the largest male tigers from the central Indian landscape.

Despite newer and bigger males coming to the scene, he still held on, until recently when he was ousted by a much younger but stronger male.

He's the father of the four litters of the famed Collarwali (out of her total eight) and sired litters with many other tigresses, contributing to the tiger population of Pench; and was known to be a caring and a doting father.

He is a large hearted gentleman (as Jim Corbett would say) a playful cat at play, and a child at heart.

The big Raiyyakassa male, playing and splashing water like a naughty child, in one of his favourite waterholes, in Pench TR.
