Panthera with Steve Winter.

In case you missed it, last week we announced that tiger photos taken by our Media Director, Steve Winter, in Kaziranga National Park are currently featured in the latest edition of the NatGeo Magazine article, "India’s Grassland Kingdom.” Check out our video to hear Steve explain how he spent an hour watching a tiger camouflaged in grass stalk a herd of elephants to capture one of these beautiful photos.

Great story from the national geographic photographer who witnessed a tiger stalking an elephant calf

Tiger trapped in Kashmir

Tiger trapped in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 16 (UNI) Wildlife officials in Kashmir have trapped the tiger which had killed several people and wounded many others in the recent past, an official spokesman said today.
He said the officials had trapped the tiger at Mawar in Handwara area of Kupwara district in an automatic cage on December 12.
The wild animal had killed several people and wounded many others besides taking away a number of cattle in the recent past.
The spokesman said the tiger had created havoc among the people in Machipora, Hanga, Darashpora, Nagnadar and adjoining villages.
The Wildlife Department had taken all possible measures to safeguard the life of the people from wild animals, he added.
The animal was later shifted to the Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre at Dachigam National Park on the city outskirts here.

They did find a leopard cub there apparently, maybe a leopard could be the culprit?
