The Bold & Daring 'Gabbar' a.k.a 'Leopard face' of TATR. No one dared to be near him..has become shy and elusive after collard by authorities. He has been engaged in fights with Katezari males for three times..reported till date after the collaring incident.

He did fight before the collaring but it looks as though he is become more shy and elusive and is got even more of a chip on his shoulder after it.

Apparently they think this new male is Shivaji's son and they also make mention to Shivaji being sighted again as well.
So maybe this is why Shivaji wasn't seen for so long, maybe he was off making sure his genes lived to adult hood. Who knows, but if this is his son, and Shivaji hasn't been seen in 3 years till now, maybe that means he had to do a fathers duty.

Wow! second unfamiliar male from Kolsa range and the range literally just opened for tourists. very interesting, Kolsa wasn't this active in 2012 and something tells me, the three year gap seems to have flooded Kolsa with handful of tigers. Now here's some of the possibilities.

1) the male is young, the size of his head is a clear indication that he's not matured.
2) he could be one of Shivaji's son and is tolerated by father Shivaji in his territory? (that's if we're assuming that Shivaji still rules and based on the March 3rd sighting) Ofcourse, confirmation is needed.
3) I checked his stripes and tried to match it with Veer's, they didn't match (here is Veer below)

the Veer pictures aren't very clear but from the rear legs region, they don't seem to match..

If anyone has a better left profile of Veer, feel free to share.

I just realized

command does not work on this forum?

Tiger Jai kills bullock, 50k (50000 Indian Rupees) compensation demanded

The incident took place on March 14th.
A bullock died after being brutally attacked by the male tiger Jai in Umred Karhandla wildlife sanctuary on Saturday evening.

According to onlookers, a villager was riding a bullock cart near the sanctuary gate when the tiger suddenly leapt upon the bullock. The incident took place around 4 .15pm after which the frightened bullock ran towards the tourist gate.

"The villagers came to the injured animal's rescue and a veterinary doctor was also summoned to the spot. However, the bullock died around 6pm during treatment in the village," said wildlife enthusiast Himanshu Bagde who witnessed the incident.

It is a buffalo, its his natural prey. What is he suppose to do?
Gov't better take care of this whether compensated the villager or repremanding him for having his cattle in Tiger territory, I don't care. But if anything happens to Jai, I would be so angry.

Here is the more info on Jai
NAGPUR: Villagers of Karhandla on Sunday forced closure of the Umred-Karhandla wildlife sanctuary tourist gate on Sunday morning after male tiger 'Jai' killed a bullock 100 metres from the gate on Saturday evening.

Over 300 villagers had launched a protest after Jai attacked two bullocks. One of the bulls died after treatment at farmer Daulat Gurnule's home while the other had a narrow escape since the farmer had started shouting and frightened the tiger away.

Villagers claimed the foresters did not provide timely help, and protested by dumping the dead bullock in front of the Karhandla gate. Sources said the villagers also resorted to mild violence by throwing chairs. The bullock was removed only around 3pm on Sunday, after police intervention.

The villagers were demanding 50,000 compensation as the bullock was used to cultivate the fields. Farming is the only source of livelihood for Gurnule.

Umred-Karhandla range forest officer (RFO) GF Luche said amid protests the gate was closed on Sunday for morning trip. Tourists who had booked entry online were diverted to Pullar gate instead of Karhandla.

"In the evening, after tensions reduced, eight tourist vehicles were allowed to enter park from Karhandla gate," said Luche. He added that a meeting with local guides has been called on Monday to discuss the situation if Karhandla gate is forced closed.

A section of the tourists said they faced a lot of inconvenience on Sunday as they had to travel 32km more, which is half as much as the distance from Nagpur to Karhandla. The sanctuary is 60km from Nagpur.

Though the villagers are demanding 50,000 compensation for the bullock, Luche said, "We will have to abide by the GR, which states that only 10,000 can be paid. The payment will be released on Monday. If the villagers force closure of the gate, it will be tourists, local guides and Gypsy owners who will suffer."

Meanwhile, wildlife experts demanded resolution of the issue early as resentment among villagers can also lead to revenge killing of wildlife. tnn

With his mother Dead, RIP, its nice to see he is doing so well at such a young age. I wonder if the forest guards helped with that?

Speaking of Bamera, has anybody heard or seen any news or images on Pushpar (bameras son)?
