There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Let’s see how things unfolds. Interesting times ahead for these two boys.

Sadly the chance of him attacking the two is larger at the moment.

He did when he and Nhenha were partnered up.

Another great video by Scar, about a coalition I had so many high hopes for. So unfortunate how things turned out, for all involved, both the Tumbelas and the Othawas, absolutely heartbreaking.

A great example of how the lion dynamics actually works. The Tumbela males were really a promising coalition back then. Unfortunately, things didn’t unfold as we would have liked and the coalition is down to 1 member.

Its indeed a good reminder that having plenty of numbers does not guarantee at all success.

Look no further than the Nharhus, who also got down to a single member, in a relatively short period of time, only in their case at least Skorrokorro still, against all odds, has his pride.

Another prime example is the Vurhami males. They went from six to just one sole survivor also after a relatively short period of time (mostly, if not solely, due to the Mjejane males)

I won't ever forget those boys, the killing of the last brother was such an awful thing, then Mo gets relocated, and we haven't heard from him since. Such a terrible thing that happened to those boys.

The Dreaded Kruger relocate to Siberia....  It irritates me that they send lions up there to die.  It's like they are getting kickbacks.

I'd imagine you aren't very far off. Unfortunately, the world has plenty of scum who will pay top dollar to kill a lion, so they can brag to their friends. I'd imagine, like with Cecil, having a level of Internet fame only brings a higher price for said lion. Not saying that happened to Mo, but when money is involved, it is always something to consider. In Cecil's case, they drug a carcass to lure him off of protected land, and since he was collared they started moving his collar all around in the bush, which ended up being their downfall. The people tracking that collar said lions will hardly move, sometimes remaining in the same spot for more than a day. Those idiots were moving his collar KMs away, every few hours. Cost that dentist his practice, so sometimes there can be justice.

I get hunting.  I do.  I live in an area where Deer, and Squirrel and pheasant and whatever else are hunted, and generally for food (yeah.. i know sport too), but there is a special place in hell for these people that hunt Elephant and Giraffe, and Lions and Leopards and Cheetah and big game in general.  Want to be a hero?  Strip down naked, make a spear out of a tree and track the animal by yourself.  Then you'll impress me.

I apologize for the rant, but it just gets me to my bone with these people.  I've hit a few of them up on twitter.  I'm an old man now, but I have an open challenge to a few of these people that's never been answered to reach out to Dana White for a charity cage match that proceeds go to defend these animals.  My few offers have never been answered.
