Ximhungwes cubs most likely died due to the chaos western sector is currently in.
I think both lionesses are mating with both Skorro and the PCmales to confuse paternity. The Ximhungwes territory somewhat overlaps Skorros territory as they cannot move into PCmales territory proper due to the presence of the Mhanheni and perhaps Talamati pride. So they are forced to mate with both males to prevent them from killing the cubs.
Skorro is just resigning to the situation as he is in no position to challenge his rivals and this will be the best he can get for now. Its just lions trying their best to live through the current chaos.

No. Those two are an already established hostile coalition.
Both are also in a well established rivalry at the moment, alternating being territorial over the Ximhungwes. So them joining would be as likely as the driven off male joining the coalition that ousted him. Very slim. Only when the PCmales take a more permanent presence and force both into nomadhood there may be a chance. But there is likely far to much bad blood already between them. 
I agree, now it seems even more likely they find each other with Mohawk and join up, which is quite a longshot in first place but somewhat plausible, if Black Dams oust him. Still not sure where they would go to find a space for themselves, solo pride males not having the best times in recent month, most coalitions including the newcoming potential contenders are 2+.
