While it's true that he's a resilient survivor for still soldiering on despite the odds, it's a real pity to see none of the Thanda Impi sons enjoying the same success their fathers had (Mandevu looks great, yes. But he's still a pride male in his own natal pride).

Something surely seems to have happened in that area, when these guys were still with their natal pride, though it only seems to have affected the young males, as we don't see the same infirmities in the rest of the Narhus. Lambile, was also very sick, but, as you mentioned, that didn't seem to affect Mandevu or Ncile. I have mentioned it before, but the Nkuhlus are very reminiscent of the Tumbelas, in that half of the original coalition appear sick, and unable to rid themselves of what ails them. Other than these two coalitions, I don't recall other coalitions where the majority were so simultaneously sick. Reply
