I compared stripes. These tigers are the 345kg tiger. I remember pckts said that the tiger’s name is Thunder.

These are Dudhwa Tigers while the 345kg Tiger was from Pilibhit.
The male named Thunder was the one who died via the snare.
Thunder and Chaltua male's left stripe are different

That’s a shame, Chaltua was still in his prime.

Dudhwa and pilibhit are adjacent and are connected by a forest corridor, so Thunder's territory may span two protected areas. I have compared the stripes many times and determined that it is Thunder.

interesting, i never knew Thunder male was the tiger they weighed. he’s a giant male but i feel like there are numerous others from the same area that are more impressive. based on what the crowd says in Dudhwa. apparently, Kauva Ghatia and Sathiana male are the biggest. some i spoke to said Gulrighat and Chaltua are just as impressive. thanks for the identification. much appreciated.

You're welcome.
I agree with your opinion.Thunder male look old and it is a tiger that over 12 years old in
the information you provided,I believe it stronger in his prime,I think they are close in body length and shoulder height.

So Thunder is the alleged 345 kg male? Is he the same male that died due to the snare?

the male that died was neither Chaltua or Thunder, it was a different male. thanks to @woshiniya for solving this mystery.

here is Chaltua male on top - dead dudhwa male on the bottom. two different males so that rules out the possibility of it being Chaltua.

the tiger that died on top and thunder male on the bottom. it's not Thunder either. the dead male's identity still remains a mystery.

@Roflcopters @woshiniya,

Just got a message from Siddharth Singh:

First things first, the male with a nylon snare around his neck was Thunder male and his snare has been removed. So, good news. He is alive.

Secondly, he said Thunder male is not from Pilibhit. He was born in Kishanpur itself and his present range is between Dudhwa and Kishanpur (as I had said a couple of months back on this thread). Pilibhit is 70 kilometres away. No tiger can have it’s range in Dudhwa and Pilibhit.

He also said that Thunder male has been in his territory for 5+ years. And, it was him and another naturalist named Achintya Pratap Singh who had given him his name.

the tiger that had that nylon snare around his neck was indeed Chaltua and not Thunder like they wrongly claimed on facebook. good to hear that he was treated. also Thunder is not a resident male of Kishanpur, he did come from a different area and he has a massive territory.

here is the tiger with the nylon snare around his neck, Chaltua's pic in the bottom. it's a 100% match. thanks to @woshiniya again for the pictures.
