There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Jorge Cervera Hauser: " Revisiting and re-editing my anaconda images. Green anacondas are the heaviest and largest snake species. This particular girl was about 6m in length, but sadly, I didn't get a chance to weigh her. "

The difference in size between both sexes is striking: females are remarkably larger than males (table 3-1)

Breeding balls: the first striking finding from examining the composition of animals caught is the enormous sexual size dimorphism found in the breeding balls (table 6-2). Each breeding ball was made of one female and 1 y of 13 males. The males coil around the female in shallow water forming a mass tha usually breaks the surface through the aquatic vegetation.

Jorge Cervera Hauser: " Same anaconda, two very different and yet very similar photographs. The second image was taken fully underwater, while the first one is an over-under shot I took as the snake came out to grasp a breath of fresh air. In both images the large female holds the same vertical position. "
