It is recognizable by its elongated snout, bushy tail, long fore claws, and distinctively colored pelage. they are  very common animals in the Venezuelan Llanos, normally you will find them at the end of the day and at nigh. They have very powerful claws, they can defend themselves very well.

Giant anteaters are incredible animals very common in Estado Apure in the Venezuelan Llanos, the best moment to find them is late during the day and at night when they are very active, they are very quiet calm animals that prefer to run away from humans, you can get very close to them with out any danger up to 3 meters, if they feel they are threatened they can be dangerous for humans standing on its hind legs ready to attack with their huge powerful claws.

I love anteaters, weird and harmless at first sight, but then tough in reality. To be honest, it reminds me of the Sloth Bear, both have long fur, and long claws to rip into termite mounds and fight off predators. Convergent evolution perhaps?
