There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

From Kirkman's Kamp:
It's been an incredible 4 days as the Charleston male lions have been on a buffalo kill with a male Leopard not more that 50 meters away waiting with anticipation.
Here @AndBeyond travel guide Rikus and his guests enjoy watching one of the brothers relaxing down by the Sand River!

What a way to see off a great year! Seen on safari for the last time in 2016…

The Charleston Males brought down a female buffalo and were seen resting beside their kill. Whilst on the other side of the reserve the Southern Pride females took down two buffalo right next to each other

After reuniting during the night, brotherly love turned into war as the Charleston males fought over the attentions of one of the females, sending the cubs scurrying for cover. Peace prevailed and they managed to finish off their recent buffalo kill.

I really believe that Mazino, the lion with the receding fang will keep it like this during his whole future life...

From yesterday:

The Southern Pride and the now somewhat calmer Charleston males were located again this morning under a light sheet of rain which seemed to have cooled the tempers of the two males. There was still a little bit of tension present between the two.

We found the Southern Pride and the Charleston males on a mission this morning. We followed them for a fair distance as they moved through the wet vegetation. There was still some tension between the males as the dominance between them appears to constantly change. There was another altercation between them this morning. The females and cubs seemed to be highly affectionate this morning as the Mandleve female was mobbed by 5 of the cubs at one time! The lions were very relaxed towards the end of morning safari.
