There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
So, what's going on here? MalaMala June report says Mohawk was sharing a kill with the smaller BDM and 3 members of the Talamati pride on 28th:
On the 26th, he was found with a fresh buffalo kill in the Mlowathi River, south of Mlowathi Dam, which he was sharing with members of the Talamati pride and surprisingly, the smaller Black Dam male. He remained in this area until the 28th.
I remember when this was originally reported, but who are those 3 Talamati lions ( assuming MalaMala isn't misidentifying them ), I checked this thread and the female sub was already missing for a long time by 11-06-2024.
Then MalaMala continues, about the smaller BDM:
On the 23rd, he was on the Gowrie Boundary, far east of the Mlowathi River, where he stole a warthog kill from young members of the Talamati Pride.
And then on the report of the actual Talamati pride, they say:
TALAMATI PRIDE (6 sightings) – Two lionesses and a sub-adult male killed a warthog on the Gowrie Boundary, east of the Mlowathi River on the 23rd. which was immediatelystolen by the Black Dam male. The same three individuals were feeding on a buffalo kill with the Northern Avoca male and Black Dam male in the Mlowathi River, south of Mlowathi Dam, from the 26th to the 28th. The sub-adult male was alone on the 29th, just east of the buffalo kill.
How is this possible? Two lionesses and a sub-adult male? If these are really the Talamatis, who is the second female with Tiyelele? And she was with Tiyelele for a while because they killed the warthog on the 23rd and were on the kill with Mohawk and the BDM from 26th to the 28th. Then the subadult male was seen alone in the next day.
