There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Current Status of Styx pride:
1 lioness: Majingilane daughter born appx Jan 2011.
1 lioness: BBoys daughter born appx Oct 2016.
8 total cubs remain alive sired by N’waswitshaka/Ndzenga :
4 cubs of the eldest two litters (born app Jan/feb 2021) belonging to Rollercoaster's and BBoys daughters.
- 1 male (soft ear) and 3 females
4 cubs of the majingilanes's daughter born appx July 2021.
- 1 male and 3 females
All three losses to the Pride have been males.
Great info. Shame for the boys, but its good for the future of the pride that 6 out of 8 remaining subs are females, even if half of them reach adulthood, its big success.

Younger Styx female was seen with Bigger Gijima male together.
Maybe distracting from recent siege.
Styx pride has been in so much stress lately

Could be....Or she might actually be in heat again...Her 2 surviving cubs will turn 2 in Jan/Feb.... Some lionesses go into heat again before their cubs are even 2....maybe 1.5-2 years at times. We'll see in 3-4 months what the case is. (come Feb) This can only help the subs a little, no matter
Seems the Styx Pride no longer trusts the N’waswitshaka as their protectors. And may even view them as risks.
“The Styx Pride was successful once again in killing a wildebeest, most of the kill was consumed and almost twenty hyenas and countless vultures kept a close eye on any opportunity for some scraps. Suddenly two male lions came running in sending the Styx Pride, hyena and vultures in all directions. “
some pics of Styx pride including Floppy Ear. I’ve been trying to find a sighting of all Styx together. I had heard they may be down to 9 members But I haven’t been able to confirm. It is believed they lost one cub (a boy). If that is the case, then floppy ear is the last remaining male. Let’s hope rumors are not true.
