There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Some quite impressive clips showing how effective hunters hyenas can be.

First cape buffalo, 2 hyenas take it down before others arrive:

What comes to biting forces, I am nowadays quite cautious. It would be interesting to find some study where same group of scientists would be doing a lot of testing with different animals. Maybe I have missed some study(?), but even in researchgate was one comparison, where it looked like to be a different source for every different animal :)

Here for instance two links and as it can be seen, some similarities, but then again a lot of differences. Btw one animal, which haven´t been tested and might be "the one" is orca, what comes to extant predators. But what comes to lions, tigers and hyenas for instance, these links provide quite different kind of information. One thing is sure of course, all of them can bite strong enough to kill prey and break bones.

This is one of the brutal video. A Hyena ate nearly half of the Impala and he is still trying to escape. Not for faint heart.
