There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

2ndly, no one is giving weights on this thread, simply comparing tigers to other tigers that people have seen first hand.
Which is called a "witness" which of course is a completely reliable form of proof.
Hence why its used in court.

Not sure what the issue is, like I have already stated
"Unlike these multiple eye witnesses who have seen these tigers (all of them listed) many times and can compare them to eachother."

Just use logic here, how do you think most estimates are made?
These people have seen these animals 100s of times, they have found out how much they weigh, they can compare them to other cats.
Maybe they are off by 10-20kgs but its still a good estimate. Tigers that have been caught and weighed are always quoted in a form of visual discription
"huge tiger" "massive paws" "thin body" "gorged" etc.... These are usually specified and the weights are shown. The largest weighing cats that are described are said to be "largest cat we saw" "We could tell it was him by the massive paw prints" etc..

You are splitting hairs if you say that you can't get a pretty good gauge on a tigers size by comparing it to others.

Sorry, but this is demagogy.

You use very vague proofs in this case...

What?
You mean eye witnesses?
That is the furthest thing from "vague"

This isn't some conspiracy theory, its common sense. They have seen these animals, you haven't. They have photographed them, gotten to know them, provided the information that you and I use etc.
They are far more qualified to say who or who isn't large or not and how they compare.
Anybody on this forum with out first hand experience will never be as qualified to determine this until they see them in person. This is not debatable.
Sorry

Eye witnesses - estimates made by tourists are definitely a vague evidence.

I don´t know what is the weight of Munna or other tigers (220, 240, 260 kg...), I just say that without DATA this discussion is quite useless...

There is no common sense or logic here, seeing the animals doesn't mean you can guess their sizes.. even experts in the field can't do that and it's pretty obvious why.

Qualified in what exactly, Photography? there's not much argument here really, you are wasting everyone's time with your arrogance.

I openly claim to know more tigers than any of the photographer's facebook pages that you spam in the photo section.

Topic was on point, Munna was overrated by your minion Asianbuffalo aka minh ha aka the Page owner of Tigers of Kanha. a mod can feel free to close this if they wish.

@amnon
Nobody is saying any weights. None of these claims are speaking about weights.
They are simply saying one tiger is the same size or larger than another. Something that is visible to the eye, usually. 2ndly, these are not just "photographers", lots work with the FD or the Location and provide the info you use.
So Vijay's opinion is meaningless because he is just a "photographer"?
Look at the contribution he has made in his short time, the great info provided on Ranthambhore tigers that we didnt know about.
A local with first hand expierence will always have more knowledge than somebody on the outside looking in. In terms of size.
You think you know how large a great white shark is because you see them on TV compared to somebody who swims with them?

So once again, nobody is talking about weights. Period!
We are talking about comparing sizes.
Whether exactly correct or slightly off, Munna is quoted by many qualified eye witnesses as being the same size, larger or smaller than Pattewala and Naak Kata.
That includes the Copters "friend" in which he quoted here.
So obviously there is nothing "overrated" about Munnas size.
He is large, plain and simple.

If you can't understand this, Im sorry.

Does anyone in their right mind believe that this guys size was anything special,  I think most of the Tiger fans are absurd with their claims of 250kg prime male tigers on average, truth is.. only a handful of tigers have the capability of reaching such a weight.. everything else, estimates and what not are all bogus.

Munna is a dominant male and probably one of the fiercist but don't mistaken his dominance for size, he's an average sized tiger over hyped and heavily riddled with fanaticism.

Wow copters, thats convincing.

Hey, tell me again,
how many of those did you take yourself?
I mean, all these guys supposedly trained under you!!??
And they are the ones saying how large munna is.
You're a joke!

No random image can change the fact that he is massive, in many images, videos and most importantly, eye witnesses.

So, should I go grab the photos of waghdoh when he thin or from a unflattering angle, and use them as fact that he is small?
Should I disregard all the ones showing him to be huge?
Should I disregard all the eye witnesses saying he is" massive, larger than bamera, huge tiger"?
Your hypocricy is astounding.
Like I said before,
Grow Up Copters!

and BTW, isn't their a specific thread on this forum that directly talks about the misguiding of pictures compared to video?

Munna there quite often Copters, why not post them here?
Why not post the ones of him next to his female, on his sides, taken from above, etc???
Whats a matter,
do they not play into your hypocritcal point?
