There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

A male lion coalition from the Maasai Mara Kenya, the Madomo pride males. The 4KM Males were a coalition of 4 males but 2 of the males disappeared. How long they hold their territory for we will wait and see as they are 12yr old plus,old for pride males. The most impressive black maned males in the Mara at the moment.

This is Morani, he's been a favourite since 2012. He's getting on a bit now, but still looking as magnificent as ever.
I took this during our recent photo safaris to the Maasai Mara this month and last.

GRAND EARLESS PRIDE UPDATE:

*This image is copyright of its original author

The Pride of the lion males Earless and Boxernose thrive and prosper. The eleven cubs are growing fast. Every day there is a rich meal for the big family. After eating a buffalo yesterday morning all were full and satified and walked to the cool shade. While Boxernose slept aside , Earless took care for one of the kids in a heart-warming way.Earless, descending from the Notch dynasty, reached an imposant size. For sure one of the most powerful lion males at the moment in Maasai Mara.

@Tshokwane :

About #1175: Earless reached his full size and is really beautifull. Like his fathers, the brothers Notch, he is also moving with an imposant swarm of flies which get excited around his face. Magnificent illustration of an animal virility...

My last posting of Earless is from July 2016 when he had just joined forces with the old veteran Boxernose. They had a hard time, but finally they founded a successful family. While I filmed them, my wife took the stills presented here.

The partners still look fine together although they are many years apart. Even old Boxernose (on the right) is fit an strong again.

My long awaited bucket list to see the African Lion at its Den, fulfilled at Masai Mara one of the early mornings. There was a Huge lion mating with a lioness several times about 15 feet away from our jeep, with two other lioness trying to entice the already busy Lion and about a km away 3 or 4 families of Lions having a feast and we saw this Pride walking majestically towards our vehicle. Clicked hundreds of photos. This one is my favourite. Is he Simha or Blackie ?! That one day several sightings of Lion families.
