Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Plains camp males killed Junior's Mom's last remaining male cub. Hyenas finished the job.
Now we are down to Sassy & her 3 Female cubs.
Old Othawa female (jr's Mom) cubs are all gone.

You mean PCMs immobilised him and Hyenas later finished him? Or PCMs killed him? Where did you hear this? Sorry for the questions..
Either way sad News. RIP little guy.

From what I understand, he was just found death.

It may be male lions as they break the spine and then leave without eating him. But It may also just be one of the countless other dangers in the wild. Like broken legs, snake bites etc.

In any case, its sad his life ended that way.

Still I am somewhat relieved it was the male cub and not one of the females. The more of the girls make it to adulthood, the better the chances the pride has to claim territory later and it will be one less mouth to feed. Making life slightly easier for them.

What May be the final images ever taken of the now deceased male Othowa sub adult with the Pride .   Trying to pinpoint dates taken to draw a timeline.   But if it’s within three days it makes it unlikely that PCMs were culprits since the body was found in Singita and the PCMs have been in Dulini for a few days and now are on a giraffe carcass of their own.

Most of us would remember an instance in Timbavati around a year ago where one of the territorial males was left immobilised and then Hyenas took over. Hope the little guy was finished of quickly.
It whittled down from 5 subadults to 3 in a matter of days, just sad. I guess at this stage they can’t run fast enough.

Isn’t that exact carcass taken over by PCMs? When I read that here, I thought it was a very good escape by the 4 cubs. Now we hear this News.

I keep seeing contradicting posts. One in which its just mentioned the sub was found death credited to her and another in which OmegaGodi pointed directly to the PCmales.

Its kinda making me suspicious about the whole thing. Especially since we only have one source for it.

Almost too much for me to bear.  A happy little pride decimated in a matter of days. If you throw in Limper and his brothers it's just so sad.
Sassy's head must be whirling with all the stress and changes.  Should she save some or fight for one?

Well, now Auntie and the rest have their little boy with them.

Lionesses and cubs without a defender are so utterly vulnerable.  Skorro did provide stability when he was there for a while anyway.

Seems that the remaining Othowa Female subs are two from Sassy and one from Junior mom.

Interesting. Lets see how long it will last now the Birminghams are gone. Things may get back to relative normal soon for them.

It will be smashing if he roars and scent marks his territory. But he needs to risk his life to make it smashing for us.
