And where will young subs go in a few months? The whole Western area is in turmoil.

The PCs also need to hunt, sleep and protect territories and cubs with Nkuhumas, cannot be tracing all the time and ready for fighting.

Othawas still have the option to breakaway and mate with PCs. And there is no strong territorial females around them.
If I remember correctly, PC males once injured Othawa Auntie badly.  Not sure she would be interested in any of them.

It was guessed to be done by Styx/Nkuhuma males.

You're completely right.
Below is a very interested video that supports your point.
It is about a pride takeover in which the eldest lioness successfully gets the youngster ready to have a better chance in surviving on their own.

This is what Sassy did when the Tumbelas came. She left with the subadults till they are ready then returned to the pride.

Not that such a history would matter. All male lions are abusive to a degree. It would sooner encourage the pride to seek them out as there is a very high chance they will be dominant soon.

Yes, Tsalala queen was in that area as well as PC boys. I don't think Tsalala queen could hurt her like that plus no any bites on Tsalala queen.

Exactly. Hopefully, it is the same outcome for the Othawa Pride.

Might be. Nobody witnessed who actually hurted her.

One male lion in a fight against a single lioness thats barely capable of running typically has a far more grim outcome.
Let alone 2.

Both of those females are also aging rapidly, which is precisely why those female cubs must be saved at any and all costs. If they lose them it would be a crushing blow to the pride. Those cubs are worth double their weight in diamonds right now.

It doesn’t have to be that both males attacked her, i doubt that 1 female can hurt her like that without taking any damage back, 1 on 1 females are quite evenly matched, even if she has that foot injury, that doesnt mean she cant fight if needed.

Also, if 2 males attacked her, they would kill her if they wanted, they prob just beat her a bit and move on or 1 male beat her, because most damage was from the front if i remember correctly.

But yea, in the end we dont know who did it, but Nwalungu males where closest to her in that moment.

Pride male Skorro jr. was spotted in Manyeleti, his natal territory.  The loss of his brothers and the constant attacks  from both the PC males and the Nhehna/NYM coalition appears to have unnerved him totally.  It would be interesting to see whether he returns or has gone nomadic completely.  Dark Mane did something similar a few months back and then returned to the Talamatis.

There is NO way to keep these cubs alive AND with them.
The best scenario: one of lionesses takes cubs and tries to leave the Western sector. But any other lions will try to kill them and one adult can't protect cubs. Mhangeni lost 18 month old sub this winter, btw.

The most realsitic scenario: PC males, NK male or some other lions/nomads will kill them by one by one during their hiding.
In the end only Sassy will stay.

Othawas are semi-nomads now, they will be keeping low profile and keep quiet.

Even if they turn full nomadic, 3 females can raise 5 subs to adulthood, it has been done before, in Tsalala pride, 1 female raised 4 cubs to adulthood as nomads, and it happened 2 times.

If 1 female can do it, 3 have much greater chance.

Lets wait and see what will happen, claiming that these subs will be 100% killed is quite a pesimistic view, because there is a chance they can survive. Those subs only need around half a year to be able to survive on their own, Othawa females could buy that time, even if that means leaving western sector and away from invading males.

But they will not stay with them. Ottawas raised four subs 2 years ago and no one of them returned to them.
Gingerella is nomadic, their sons are nowhere to see.

The males went nomadic and dragged Gingerella with them. Once she came back, the pride dynamics had shifted to a point she could no longer be reintroduced.

Not likely to repeat again and not really the prides fault.
