There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Notch sons Caesar, Ron and Notch 2 took down a hippo again. It is their usual job which was taught by his father. This is also the reason for their good physique. Whenever they are unable to get food from females, they are hunting hippos by themselves.

Amazing! Especially the last one, really puts into perspective the task at hand, and one that they do regularly.

Absolutely, hippos never look "big" to me, like a rhino or elephant until I actually see them next to something for scale.
What huge creatures they are.

@Pckts that mixed with some serious speed, it's no wonder they kill so many people in Africa

Ron, a majestic and handsome lion, put on quite a show for us one morning in Africa. With worn down teeth and battle scars, I found him to be a wonderfully charismatic lion to photograph!

APEX - Photography & Safaris:
Looking through the archives, I came across this image of the Notch boys walking under a fiery sky. After spending hours watching them snoozing, they finally decided to get up and take a stroll just as the sun was about to set!
