I think this clip/video has been posted before, I remember seeing it on WildEartha while ago. I think it might even have been me that posted it here.

I confused him with his cousin Nkuhuma YM! (from the core pride) They would be a very interesting duo.

Mala Mala monthly report for March 2025, posting it as requested by @Mapokser

NKUHUMA PRIDE = 8
2 ADULT FEMALES 8 YEARS 7 MONTHS
2 ADULT FEMALES 5 YEARS 9 MONTHS
4 SUB-ADULTS (3 FEMALES & 1 MALE) 3 YEARS 11 MONTHS
WESTERN & CENTRAL EYREFIELD
(3 sightings)

It has been a long time since we have seen this pride and this month we had three sightings of
them. On the 19th, seven members were east of Tlebe Rocks with one Black Dam male and young
Monwana male, and the following day they were east of Mlowathi Dam where they reunited
with another lioness. On the 24th, six pride members were at Mlowathi Dam with one Black Dam
male and the Kruger male, where they were chased by a herd of elephants and had an
interaction with another unidentified young male lion, who was chased off by the older males.

Nkuhumas really do have new cubs, the mother hasn’t been specified yet. As I’ve said quite a few times regarding this pride, don’t get too attached to these lil ones yet, there’s a lot of males around them and the whole pride have been avoiding the Kambulas, who likely sired these cubs.

I wouldn’t count out Mantimhales or Kruger Male and possibly S.Avoca being the sires either, they were all mating with Nkuhumas around the time the lioness would’ve conceived. It was confirmed both groups were mating with Little Amber.

The last identified Nkuhuma lioness was Pale eyes, Arathusa announced at the time one was pregnant and it was her but this was in January, she’s the one who I believe had some cubs but lost them straight away.

If that is really gonna become a partnership, this time together is crucial. It’s so rare for young males to come across each other this early, and they will likely both be ousted from the pride together, it’s not like one of them is trying to start his nomadic life and the other prefers the pride. This bond could potentially make up for them not even being blood brothers.

If I am remembering correctly both Amber (Little Amber and Amber 2) was sighted mating with all these males except S.Avoca, while Pale Eyes was sighted mating with Kambula and Mantimahle, and for RND she was only sighted to be mating with the Kambula Males.

Kruger Male was really dominating S.Avoca as early as they were 1st sighted together with WildEarth as Kruger Male is even mounting the S.Avoca and seemingly with the mating that we see it is always the Kruger Male. Really shows how the Kruger Male have a strong personality.

Also it seems it is always the 2 Amber's that is staying behind when some new males arrive until the others get to safety.

I know we do not really know them 24/7 on who they are with but just adding this info.

Speculated by Deon to be RND.

Also seems like some Nkuhuma is with the Kambula basing on the latest IG Post of Deon saying "Had to enjoy the stomach while the Kambula male was feeding." pertaining to the Nkuhuma female on the video. It is also said by Deon the Kambula Males have 2 buffalo with them while the Nkuhumas is with 1 buffalo, seems like both are near to each other.

Yeah it was very strongly implied, to say the least, that Kambulas are with at least a few lionesses having 3 buffalo kills in the same area.

The story showing the cubs was posted back to back with the stories showing the females feeding on the buffalo, it might even be that this is happening close to the den.

It's not impossible that the Kambulas are aware of the mother and cubs, but we have to wait and see.

If this is it and the Kambulas end up accepting the 2 cubs, it could be now or never for them in terms of their prospects at being dominant males.

Free, empty territory; 6 adult females who have already accepted the males since long ago, 2 cubs already sired; and they're 4 prime brothers with only duos as neighbors, duos not even that interested in your territory to be and pride.

Hell, at this point they might not even need to deal with PCM and Mantimahle, neither are visiting the NK territory much, if the Kambulas just stick there together roaring, it may reach a point where neither PCM nor Mantimahle will want to investigate 4 prime males roaring in the neighborhood, in areas they barely care about.

They've always been so luck that this time they might just have to clean house, ousting the Kruger Male, NK young male, Monwana, limping BDM and maybe Avoca & bigger-maned BDM, a job that even them can easily do.

Monwana male lion maybe cousin to young Nukhuma? Relative of Monwana male lion could be lion oh Avoca younger brother of Mohawk.
