Seems like this seals the deal that they are the father for the cubs as no aggression or no infanticide happened.
Nkuhuma Males 2019, you are the father LOL.

It just means they accepted the cubs. Not that they fathered them. Lions have no concept of that.

6/8 Nkuhumas on Sunset drive yesterday, on the boundary between Djuma and Torchwood. Ridge Nose's daughter, Pale Eyes and the young male, as well as three other lionesses. They moved off onto Torchwood at the end of the drive.

Does anyone know which lioness this is? She has a rather large and distinct notch in her left ear.

Excellent breakdown and family tree of the Nkuhuma Pride.

The N. Avocas left a good legacy in this pride....What with 2 sons now fathers in Kruger, 2/4 older lionesses from Amber Eyes (Little Amber, plus Amber II), plus 4 extra subs from the older b'ham daughter lionesses (with the NK Male's littermate sister that died recently, Tattered Ear, having one of the 3 younger girls).  That's 8.

It's crazy how some lionesses in a pride will be so much more successful in passing on their genes and leaving a genetic legacy than other lionesses in the same pride. Almost half of the lionesses in the pride (3/7) are descended from Ridge Nose, and she has two sons, one of whom has recently sired his first cubs and will hopefully sire many more, and the breakaway daughter. As of now she has more living descendents than Chela, Purple Eye and Amber Eyes combined. It's more easy to observe the different success rates in males, and I find I easily forget that this is also going on with the lionesses, it's just a bit more subtle and not as obvious until someone makes a family tree like this.

Would love to see this for the other prides in Sabi Sands and look forward to the upcoming video mentioned at the end. Have now subscribed to this great channel.

Not to mention the fact she died quite early on, just when her cubs got independent and she could start mating again.

Hey!

Just wanted to share an "enriched version" of the family tree of the current Nkuhuma Pride members, based on the information I found in the same youtube channel (all about lions of Sabi Sands) and other videos. Please tell me if there are any mistakes.
