Nkuhumas and cubs live on WildEarth at the moment with Mohawk. Haven't seen him live in a while, he's looking really good. Been on for a while now though so not sure how long they will stay with them.

Brilliant sighting, had the lionesses roaring about 20 minutes ago with Mohawk joining in just off camera. Haven't seen Blondie since I've been watching.

N Avocas with the Nkuhuma pride. Guide says they are pretty close to the Talamatis at the moment.

Nkuhumas on a buffalo by Tendai Moyo.
They've definitely mastered how to bring buffs down

Quite impressive since they didnt have Blondie or Mohawk to help them take down the huge prey.

Sorry for late response but Tattered Ear lioness is Nkuhuma male's sis & littermate. She is a mother of the young cubs.

Nick eared lioness (purple eyes daughter) is the one who is missing. She left with nkuhuma male and then tried to return but was chased away

Thanks.  I didn't know that Nkuhuma male had more than 1 sister (littermate)

Sad news posted to the Lions of Djuma FB Group:

Sounds like Purple Eye has passed away.  Ufffff

“Sighting reported to me by ex Londolozi head ranger Oliver Sinclair. Bad news coming out of the Sabi Sands, but sadly…. the circle of life. One of the Nkuhuma lionesses has been found deceased. She was seen on Marthly with the pride and two Avoca Males on a giraffe kill and then a few days later a wildebeest kill. On both occasions she was not being allowed to feed and at the wildebeest kill appeared to be struggling for breath. Taking raspy, bubbly breaths. She was seen yesterday deceased. She had a glassy right eye…. So sounds to me as if it could be Purple Eye ?although this ID has not been confirmed yet. Rest easy girl.

Sad to hear that. I guess the pride was worried about catching whatever she had.
