Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Photo of Wide Nose posted today, but not certain when taken.   Could have been in aftermath of his attack.   Injuries match.

How long do we wait until there’s growing concern for Wide Nose’s status and whereabouts?

Any signs of him since Umkumbe posted his limping video?

Guess we have to wait.

Last report was from MalaMala on 18th, Umkumbe posted on 19th,but it was from week before.

Worse for him that his brothers are mating with Kambulas, they might chase him off if he comes close, as they might see him as competition.

I mean, he survived period in which he could pot bleed out from wounds, now concern is can he get meals and avoid other lions/hyenas when alone.

It’s been more than a month and MalaMala is yet to release their blog. They might know his status by now. Had he been in any decent condition, surely he would have been found around Kambula females. He was the one who likely mated with them the most. From the last video, he was alone and his movement looked very poor. Would be defenceless if found out by hyenas.

Was always curious if his injury affected his ability to roar, sounds pretty normal to me. If that injury was serious internally, I don't think he would be able to roar comfortable like that.

I don't think they are organs. Looks like his abdominal lining or something.

Way it was explained awhile back, it's something referred to as proud flesh, which if I am understanding correctly, is a build up of scar tissue.

At this point, they are dominant of Kambula pride, execpt the lioness with the 4 cubs. One of the cubs went missing and we thought he was killed by N’was but he is still alive and well

She, I believe it is a female. The male cub is one of the older three and was not missing.
