Lions of Timbavati

The four members of the Sark breakaway pride catch an adult zebra in the late morning, the local hyena clan arrived to try and steal the kill, but the young male lion was having none of it!

Two of the three old Birmingham male lions at Ngala Private Game Reserve. These two males ruled over the Birmingham pride for at least three to four years, and have sired over the course of the time five sub-adult males and 11 sub-adult females within the Birmingham pride.

The silver-eyed king of Thornybush!
The unmistakable Mapoza male. A true specimen of male lion that dominates a big part of the Thornybush Game Reserve in Royal Malewane. Over the course of time, with the absence of dominant males in the area, for example the Giraffe male who went missing last year, who went into a private property known as Sandringham dam area and didn’t return. Slowly after the Mapoza male and the two Xikukutsu males have been venturing into Thornybush and soon after they took-over the Monwana pride (already fathered seven cubs) and the Black dam pride (of which all three males were seen mating with the lioness a few months ago) hopefully, some cubs will born soon within the Black dam pride. Despite the blind-right eye of the Mapoza male, it hasn't slowed him down, as he is dominanting in Timbavati and Thornybush for almost three years, siring countless cubs in Thornybush area, and sub-adults in the Avoca pride from Timbavati. What a dominant legend!

Such a sadness update, The oldest River pride lioness has died recently.
This is what I received today: They headed east and when they came back they were in bad shape… obvious signs of a fight with the youngest female carying a bite on her spine that seems to be infected now but the funds are strong! What a sighting!
A fantastic portrait of the last surviving lion cub from last years litter of six born to the River pride at @kings_camp With the recent death of the oldest River pride lioness, will be interesting see how the lion dynamics develop within the River pride after of lost an old and wise lioness.
