Tanda Tula update
The lions provided us with daily sightings, mostly in the form of the Nharhu males who spent the majority of the week to the east of Tanda Tula Safari Camp,but we did catch up with all three them roaring their dominance out in the western sector a few days after the rains.  *This image is copyright of its original author The River Pride lionesses were alarmingly absent for much of the week, but as it drew to a close, Jack managed to track them down not too far east of camp and the next day one of the pregnant lionesses had separated and was found along the banks of the Nhlaralumi Riverbed, possibly in anticipation of the arrival of the cubs! A wonderful surprise was a visit of a pride of lions that I had not personally seen before, and that was when we bumped into the six members of the Vuyela Pride shortly after they had crossed into our concession from the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.This impressive pride – consisting of five young males and one lioness, treated us to an attempted sunset hunt, but unfortunately they were spotted before they could get close enough to make a charge. All six of the lions looked to be in fantastic shape, and their presence on the periphery of the River Pride’s territory is a slight concern, but only time will tell how long they choose to hang around before moving back west. Although the Mayambula Pride remained absent once again, there were at least some positive reports of their presence on the Kruger boundary to the south of our concession. All sixteen members are reported to be in great shape!
Motswari
This male lion was found hot on a scent trail of two females. Even in the heat of the day he was determined to keep moving and find his prize. The one really characteristic thing about the #giraffe male #lion is his #orange color. In the human world he would be considered a true #ginger. He is still holding strong, but with the pressure from the #monwana males as well as the #mapozamale and the #xikukutsumales further north, he seems to have satisfied his curiosity of venturing in that direction too often, and is spending more time trailing the @blackdampride of #lions again. Personally I am not a fan of his color, but who can deny he is a poster boy for male lions. Two of the nharu males have been consistently found together, staying within the vicinity of their limping brother. The coalition of three has been mostly separated throughout the week, due to the injured male having a limit to the distance he can cover daily.

The five males were again accompanied by a lioness that could possibly be their sibling. The Five Vuyela males are growing so fast and looking heathly day to day at Tanda Tula

Nharhu Males mating with the Timbavati lionesses,These males now have two prides in their controll,Fascinating news :)

It’s a small pride of two lionesses that first showed up when the male lions set off from Machaton Dam and came across them only to chase them off our northern boundary. The next afternoon, responding to their roaring in the area, we located two males, one of whom was mating with a lioness from the long lost Timbavati Pride (the same pride that had white lion cubs in 2009). These lionesses have returned to the Timbavatifrom the wilderness areas of the Krugerto the east, and it remains to be seen how long they will hang around. It would be wonderful if they could set up a safe territory under the protection of the Nharhu males to the north-east of Tanda Tula Safari Camp.
