I was very fortunate by give them a hand to Umbabat a hand with information the old River pride males  and Skorro males a few years ago.
Here I mentioned that the old River pride males were born in 2007/2008. Which means, I perhaps got the Klaserie ranger word wrong when he told me 2005.  My mistaken.

Great, didn't know that 3rd,limping Skorro/Abercombrie male was euthanized.

He had a really sad end. He was really young, With three males,  the Skorro coalition would be more powerful.

The Torchwood young male. Looking impressive and regal as ever with his partner, the Birmingham young male. It's incredible how big and healthy is the mane of the Torchwood young male. He's going to be a incredible male lion if he reach his prime.

Guides were right, they're pretty the same size with the BYM being slightly taller in the shoulders. But wow the Torchwood Young Male has such a big and beautiful dark mane and he is not even 5 yet. The BYM seems to have fully recovered, his tail is still swollen but he is walking as normally as he can and looks pretty healthy.

This is perfect example of difference in body type between Avoca/Giraffe gene (tall, lean lions by most part) and Bboys gene (tanky, muscular lions).

Pretty much, although Nhenha is much more athletic than his brothers. Something I've always noticed and you can actually see it here. Nhenha and pretty much all Bboys but mostly Nhenha always walks with his head down and if you seen him lying down, his head is always straight and never perched. If you look at how the Birmingham Young Male lies down compare to the TYM, he looks like his neck is long but Nhenha and the Torchwood young male have straight necks. I wonder if their necks are thicker and heavier. You can also see the difference between the Othawa Male and Nhenha. Othawa Male always walked with his head up and sat with head perched but Nhenha has his head straight whether standing or sitting. I think the Bboys have shorter shoulders  but thicker and more muscular necks and shoulders. It's weird but if you pay attention, you'll see it. Tinyo has pretty tall and muscular shoulders though.

Seeing this video and the one just before, I had the exact opposite impression.
BYM seems more powerful to me, mainly for the anterior part of his body.
We note once more, that with the same images, our respective feelings can be very different, smile.

Well, as we said, he is bigger in bone structure, but Torchwood is more muscular compared to their bodies, my point is, enlarge Torchwood male to the size of BYM frame, he would look more muscular then BYM is.

Birmingham male is significantly taller, bigger male. Torchwood male is overall very good looking fella, but in terms of body size he clearly falls behind Birmingham male.

It is one of the Giraffe males. It is not either of old Avocas which fathered the Northern Avoca males.

Tanda Tula update

In other news, our Mayambula Pride and Skorro males remained quite active in the eastern sections, and we could hear the roars of the male lions at Tanda Tula Safari Camp on most nights this week.  The Sark Breakaways seem to be making a habit of daytime hunting, and we found them looking hungry and, on the prowl, late one morning.  We left them heading towards a neighbouring camp and heard that later in the day they managed to catch themselves a kudu not far from where we left them!  That afternoon there were another two members of the Sark pride in the same area, but they were in the presence of two of the five Vuyela males.  Sadly, I was out in the far east so didn’t get to catch up with the coalition.  I

A few days later I was very happy to hear that three of the Vuyela males were found in the main part of our concession, and planned on going out to see them in the afternoon. Uncharacteristically for lions, the three boys had gotten up and moved not just from their resting spot, but also off of our western boundary and into the Klaserie.  They were however replaced in that spot by two Sark lionesses!  It is encouraging to see this pride pushing deeper into the central Timbavati and into the void that the River Pride left.

Using the word "significantly" way too loosely there. Like I said, put them next to each other and they are almost the same size with the Birmingham Male being slightly taller in his shoulders. I wouldn't say the difference is significant. It is there, you can tell the Birmingham male is taller but the difference is not that great
