Unfortunately the inevitable happened, Birmingham young male was found yesterday on SafariLive with injured leg, it seems that 2 Ross males mauled his leg few days ago..

He was in company of Fabio, the more stable of 2 Ross males, he is quite tolerate of young male and usually only follows his brother Tyson who is far more agressive towards young male:

Both males where roaring, with young male roaring louder then older male:

This guy will be the next legend or get killed early. Just doesn't have that natural fear of dominant males most young males have. That roar in front of fabio was damn near suicide, even mr T didn't roar in front of selaties when they killed him.

Agree, Fabio face expression was priceless when the young male started roaring, he was like "wtf is this guy doing, we just kick his ass".

He and his brother attempted to still a kill from Red Road male in late 2018, when they only have like 2 yrs and then get beaten by RRM, this guy is fearless or crazy, as Ngala rangers often say about him..

Umlani update

The lions have been extremely active in the central Timbavati lately with the River pride denning with cubs on our traversing area, this has meant not only do we get to often see the small cubs but their fathers the Nharu males have been ever present too. Most nights we hear the males roaring into the night securing a safe territory for their offspring and females. One evening though we did find the two Mbiri males well within Nharu territory, however at the sound of the 3 males roars the Mbiri males moved back south in the opposite direction and we have not seen them again.

Wonder what the Mibiri's are up to. May be bidding their time to isolate one of the Nharu boys.

Doubt that, they lost some of their territory in Timbavati, but they find new one in Kruger.

I bet they look for opportunity to easy push out Nharhus. That is by finding one of them separated. Mbiris clearly does not want to take open confrontation 2 vs 3, but 2 vs 1 is different story.

Tanda Tula update

The cubs are growing in confidence and gave us some super special sightings this week – as always, their energy levels ensure that any time spent with them is entertaining. We found them one afternoon when the moms had gone out to hunt, and their confidence and curiosity brought them all creeping out the bush to see who we were! Naturally though, because the mothers weren’t there, we left them in peace without any distractions. It was this same curiosity that helped me locate them later in the week when I found signs of them with a kill right in Tanda Tula Safari Camp! They had killed an antelope adjacent to the camp, but the mothers had dragged the kill into the thickets just inside our camp’s perimeter. It would have been impossible to see them if it wasn’t for the curious cubs once more popping out to see what I was getting up to

A trip to the far west didn’t produce any sightings of lions, but we did find fresh signs of a portion of the giraffe pride, and heard that a couple of days earlier, the two Monwana males had been on a giraffe kill.

Some say that they were sired by Ross males yet you can clearly see that those males has a face structure so characteristic to Avoca/Giraffe sons and they look very similar to Red Road male, Blondie and Mohawk Northen Avoca and smaller maned Southern Avoca.

He still doesnt put any pressure on his leg, but its good for him that pride will most likely secure him a meal this night.

And according to the "Lions of Timbavati" Facebook page, the 2 Skorro control an area in South-Eastern Umbabat, specifically the Brazilie property. They have been seen pushing west towards Motswari though.

Both of this Information has been giving By Motswari Private Game Reserve (Rangers) Towards Lions of Timbavati Page, Both Info is accurate.
