MALAMALA TODAY: November 4th. 4 lion sightings: The Gowrie male coalition has reunited- all 4 males were found in Matshapiri Open Area. This is the furthest south we we’ve seen them. As darkness fell and the full moon rose, bleaching the bushveld into a ghost-like replica of daytime, the lions began moving back north. A Styx lioness and her 4 young cubs were viewed at Mlowathi Dam. 3 unidentified lionesses were seen at Matshapiri Dam. The scar-nosed Manyelethi male and 4 of the Kambula lionesses were in the south.

Gowrie males means BBoys
Scanr-nose Manyelethi means Scar Nose Majingalane

No, Other Mhangeni might have most likely killed after Charlestons chased Mhangenis..
Since then the 3rd Mhangeni is missing.

Yes the Matshapiri Male was also with the 4 Kambula Lionesses, according to Oct 31st MalaMala report <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmalamalagamereserve%2Fposts%2F1690894527628831%3A0&width=500" width="500" height="542" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>

''By daybreak on Sunday the Matshapiri male and 4 Kambula lionesses were on Sibuye Drive. The Manyeleti male was viewed just a few hundred meters away from them.'' - oct 31st post(detailing oct 28th-oct 30th game drives)

In the comments the MalaMala account says ''No, it was the same sighting on MalaMala. Initially it was scar nose. Then Matshapiri joined the lionesses. Then scar nose chased him off again.''

So ye the smudged nose Matshapiri was with the 4 Kambulas, but Scar Nose chased him off.

was this the male that was killed by the matimahle male lions? I think he was the one that was with the tsalala pride then the magheni pride! I wish he would've stayed with one of those coalition. I think the 2 brothers were in kruger.

The one killed was one of the 2 that used to be in the Kruger.

The third male wasn't seen anymore and it's premused dea, although we don't know.

I was looking at the pics on the kruger coalition thread and the 2 Sparta males has a bigger and wider head compared to the 3rd male who had a smaller and longer snout.(just my observation)

is it me or is the southern pride lioness the only pride that doesn't allow new pride male taking over not to kill cubs that are sired by different males? it seems that when the kruger males took over they kept the Toulon cubs safe and when the freddy was expelled by the sandriver males they didn't allow them to kill the cubs and when the fourway males came in same thing again! and when the charlestons came in they didn't kill the fourway cubs and now the charlestons cubs their still keeping them safe! these females are very good moms! the other pride that are really good moms are the castelon/ximguwne moms were very protective of their kids even to the point where she sacrificed herself to save her kids from the othawa females and majingalane males and the tsalala females are very good at protecting their cubs to where the both tailess lioness leaves their natal area to raise the subadults to matuarity, and off course the mahgeni pride who were able to raise 2 litters who probably inherited the same trait as their mom and grandma(original, 2nd tailless) the Charleston lioness is also on the list of remarkable ladies! any thoughts on any other great moms or worst moms out there?

@swtlei4u

Agreed on the Lionesses. I am still familiarizing myself with the different Lionesses but you named some phenomenal mothers and sisters there. I am in awe of the Tsalala lineage. Legends.
