There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Names like Nym work becouse they sound like actual names.
Though for a name to be adapted from fannon it probably helps if there is already confusion about different males with the same name.

No, but the males were seen with that lioness and cubs a few months' ago. I saw pictures and I'll try and find these.

I always thought it was a terrible  idea for lions to be named in that type of way by fb fans.  I was against Nguvu (still am) as well as names like Ubuso Or Amahle.
But this Thor & Loki news made me laugh! It is not a good idea in my opinion. Let the reserves and rangers/guides do the naming.

This just causes disagreements & confusion.

Yeah man! Those names seriously sound so Zoo-ish.

Was that the report where they were seen in the same area or pictures of them all together? I remember the report but not the pictures

Names like Nguvu dont bother me too much. It sounds local.

Thor and lightning are just terrible names. Like we are reading a bad lion fanfic that ran out of lion king names.

Names that "sound" local are just as problematic as the zoo names.

It's always better to just let the rangers/staff name the animals because then the names are actually local and thus authentic.

It makes me laugh too. I’m guessing Thor was a light-maned lion and Loki was a dark-maned lion?
