There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

• An unknown sub adult male was seen near Beaumont’s camp on the 3rd. he was bleeding badly from his hind quarters. With the Kambula pride and a Gowrie male seen in the same area its possible he had a run in with them

I believe it is one of the two young males recently seen in northen Mala Mala.

The Birmingham males continue to rule the roost, and their legacy is potentially being furthered as reports filter in that one of the Ntsevu lionesses has given birth.
We cannot 100% confirm the paternity though as some of the females have mated with the Othawa male as well.
Lineage aside, it’s exciting news for us that we may soon be seeing new lion cubs on the reserve.

" At Sabi Sabi we are very fortunate to enjoy a natural protected area that is abundant in so much activity from many different lion prides. To all those prides, coalitions, phenomenal females, resilient cubs and amazing characters we have grown to admire and respect over the years – here’s to you!!! "

" We decided to head down to the southern section of the reserve this morning and thankfully we did, as we managed to find fresh tracks of one male lion heading towards an open area. We spotted him moving through the long grass and eventually came across the four N'waswishaka male lions and Southern Pride female lying just off the road, absorbing the morning warmth. They say the lion is the "king of the jungle", but this lioness was taking no nonsense from the four large males, putting each one in his place if they stepped out of line. "

Othawa Boy doesn't look much worse for wear. May be he did manage to chase the young nomads.
