@Slayerd I was just about to write the exact same thing. Always good to verify what guides say. Including Jr being the same size as Tumbelas... and 2.5/3 year old wouldn’t be the same size as a five year old male, not to mention the life experience Tumbelas have from their year as nomads.
My hope is that since this isn’t a violent takeover, and the ladies have already started mating with them, they might be more tolerant of the sub adults. Especially if they are very submissive and stay out of the way. I don’t get the sense that the Tumbelas are raging with testosterone the way males are when they actually have to fight for territory. Yes the last extreme takeover in Sabi Sands by nomads was the Birmingham and Charleston. The Birminghams chased and killed anything that got in their way. They killed the cubs, lionesses, Sub Adults, chased the Styx Males and Tsalala pride. Forced the Matimbas, Junior and the Torchwood members to leave. The Nkuhuma and Styx were terrified of them. These Tumbelas are very calm. Alot like the Avocas and Othawa Male had their takover. Slowly taking over little by little. I remember when a Nkuhuma lioness tried to flirt with the Birminghams to mate and they chased her trying to kill her instead. The guides were confused but that's how aggressive they were. They wanted to takeover not just mate. None of that is happening here. Like you said, we will have to see what happens but nothing horrifying is happening as of now. Things might change but not for now. Junior is much bigger the Othawa lionesses already, so its not impossible that he is close in size to Tumbelas.. All the Othawa lionesses are on the smaller side anyway compared to eastern lionesses like the Kambula who are larger sized. Sassy will probably stay with the sub adults while her Aunts stay with Tumbelas. The subs need a huntress who can provide meals and protection so i hope she does not leave them. The Nharu/Tumbela males are busy... for now. But through roaring, eating constant meals, mating and scent marking, their confidence and testosterone will grow and that may spell disaster for our Othawa Boys and girl. We will see how things unfold. The presence of a big male like Hairy Belly may help to deter young males for a while, but i have a bad feeling (i hope im wrong) that Hairy Belly has left the pride due to the threat. The smart old boy has done this before when feeling pressure from outnumbering invaders, leave and become nomadic. Sadly, at 14 years old, he cant risk missing many meals as he will lose condition fast. So i hope he reunites with Sassy, his Matimba offspring and big Junior Majingilane.
