2 perhaps 3 Nkuhlu male lions with a female roaring at Lion Sands. Gijima males were nearby listening to the noise.
Snip Tail Nkuhlu #2 roaring while his younger brother, #6, stays low. Lioness hidden into the thickets and perhaps another brother out of frame, not sure.

Both Gijima brothers hearing the roars.

He is probably too weak to engage in territorial behavior.

Similar behavior was displayed by the Nkuhlu male #3 when 4 of them chased an unknown male in Lion Sands back in mid/late 2024. At that time, a video showed Snip Tail Nkuhlu #2 bullying his brother #3 after all of them roared except for him.

#3 & #6 are the weakest and thinnest of the remaining brothers, so i think its very likely that just as @Mapokser says, #6 is perhaps not strong enough to engage in a more territorial / assertive behavior.

So I’ve got a question I’ve been doing some studying and research on females in sabi sands when they give birth but it seems they’ll give birth at around 3 in a half or just over 5 years old so when they turn 4 is it like a buffer age or something? I don’t think I’ve seen or heard of a female giving birth at that age or starting to give birth at that age but the first could be the other othawa female I believe she’s almost 4 years old

If I am not mistaken, I believe Princess Tsalala was right near four the first time she gave birth, or just a couple months older. I do not believe she was over 5, but she was for sure over 3.
