Strange Eorenji would behave this way alone.   Could get him into some trouble.   He’s currently the only N’waswishaka that’s fully healthy.  Amahle was seen with a swollen paw.

Put etention to the Mala Mala's map. That "pushing north" is around the center of the current Ndzenga territory. He is no where near Northern Avocas nor Kruger males so he is definitelly safe.

Finally some good views of Dark Mane and his group. They have feasted on a double Buffalo kill for 2-3 days now. Because WE does not have permission to be on the property all the visuals have been long distance and not very good. Today some are in better view close to the water edge and that includes Dark Mane. The two Buffalo were reported to be young Buffaloes. The lions that are seen have nice full bellies! Nothing like a successful hunt to improve the condition of the Lions. We also get nice views of the big and handsome subadult male.

Shame it's hard to get a good visual of that subadult male as it's not in HD, but he looks like either Blondie or Dark mane.

Very nice video by Zali_Photo of The Last Gowrie Male Nhenha and his Kambula Pride.

Dark maned sub-adult is at the start of the video posted above. Impressive mane for the age.

Thanks for that. To be honest, I missed that part. And yeah, he's got an impressive mane and it's great to see him with DM.

Better pictures of that Talamati subadult male, Dark mane, with DM. Love their closeness- apparently DM loves that male so much that they sleep so closely together.

Maybe they could stay together and after his son is grown?

I think he'd need to be expelled first before he joins up with his sons right? Otherwise he'll still have the instinctual urge as a pride male to expel them once they start coming into sexual maturity

DM didn’t even stick with his brothers. He seems to prefer being on his own. So I don’t think he’d form a coalition with his sons unless the situation was extraordinary.

Nhenha hasn't yet expelled his subs and his are already 3 years old.

Nhena could be using a different strategy, lone old males often tend to try to hang out more with his sons so that they can protect him where as younger pride males like DM will expell them at a younger age.
