TBT two years ago when the Othawa and Mangheni pride clashed each-other.
The Othawa male in that year already was looking on fantastic shape and involved on the scuffle.

This was posted 5 days ago. What's up with Aunty Othawa? It's as if she's hiding something or looking for something ?.

Maybe she thought she saw something in the bushes worth investigating....a potential snack?? LOL.  A little critter caught her eye?

I hope she's not ill or anything.  Cats can disappear and distance themselves when not well.

You know, I didn't want to believe it....  I thought it was my imagination!  I could swear that she has suckle marks....but since it hasn't been confirmed if she had cubs, I didn't allow myself to go there...ha!

If she has any, hope she hasn't lost/will not loose them.  They are going to be in a potentially unfavorable position soon.

It seemed too wild to think she could have cubs though....because Junior would have been just over 2 when she went into heat, and none of the rangers hinted at a possible pregnancy, nor has anybody seen HB and Aunty mating for several days straight.... although I did see once where HB was trying to creep over her while she was dozing.  She caught him, sneaky lion!

What will she do?  Try tricking the Tumbelas once the take-over is complete? Try to raise them on her own?  This is assuming there will be cubs alive and well once they start getting older and crawling about.

I guess she is still periodically leaving the pride?  That would strengthen the chance those cubs are still okay and haven't been found by the Tumbelas or something else.

Junior is 2.5, so she certaintly can go into heat already, Kambula lionesses gave birth again and their previous litter is even younger, at 2 yrs..

Its impossible to tell what would happen if she have cubs.. She was also seen with Tumbelas, so she might trick them that those are theirs cubs.

Yes, apparently so.  However, I do recall you mentioning that Aunty Othawa hasn't gone into heat yet.  We see now that she has done so and it remains to be seen how many cubs there are.

No mention of the suckle marks by the rangers, but it's clear when I peer closely at the footage without my glasses that those should be suckle marks!  Seems like the rangers are all over themselves, announcing about possible Mangheni Pride pregnancies and suckle marks, but not a word about Aunty Othawa's obvious signs.

Let's see how this one unfolds.  Interesting times for the Othawa Pride: take-over in process, perhaps cubs born at a harrowing time, the subs lives are on the line, HB banished, and big Aunty Othawa going for broke with the new boys.

Whilst the cubs and two lionesses snoozed into the afternoon, two heads appeared over the skyline; two more Mhangeni females were joining from a nearby waterhole, shortly to be followed by the Othawa male.
