Atleast 4 females are confirmed, maybe more, and a lot of 1 year old cubs..

Imbali pride can be seen on outskirts of Southern Manyeleti and Buffelshoek.. And now with Talamatis moving further south, they are prob moving deeper..

How interesting is lion movements, with Nkuhumas moving south, we have Talamatis moving deeper into Northern Sabi Sands, and vacuum they left attracts Imbali pride..

Man, and another one. Buddy, the Koppies and Mbiri cubs are all in trouble now. This is awful. He said "He was put out of his suffering.", did they put him down? I truly hope this is the last one for awhile.

The rangers found him already dead,Very sad,Considering and knowing that he's the only son of Nduna Matimba.
He has left a good legacy through the Skorro pride,At least 5 cubs in the Koppies pride(Without sightings of those cubs). then,I don't know if they are alive... And,Recently he has mated with the Mbiri lionesses. This means that,Around Jan/Feb, Those females should give a birth cubs

A few days ago, I've speak with Neil Jenning about which could be the reasons of the swelling on Junior face.
Neil told me this: I’m pretty sure snake

Would be very surprised if anthrax. It’s seems to wet here now for that

Worst news after losing lolparpit, styx and now our beloved jr.

I have not seen the on beat episode yet, but heard the news from a friend of mine in Manyeleti. I really tried hard to get them to help him as it may have been Anthrax and not a snake bite. I was actually told this by another ranger and was shown pictures to compare symptoms.

He was 8 years old.... in his prime. He was voted best looking male lion in Manyeleti. He was indeed an incredible male lion.

I remember him as a cub and then as a young sub adult following his fathers around. He was a big boy!

He has 5 remaining cubs in the koppies pride, sons and daughters in the Skorro breakaway pride and 4 Mbiri females are pregnant.

Unfortunately, the success of the Orpen coalition rested on Junior's shoulders as Buddy is not in the best condition.

The future belongs to the 4 young Mbiri males.

If Buddy can form a bond with Red Rd, maybe he has a chance. They both need a partner now. But that is wishful thinking.

R.I.P to Junior Nkuhuma/Orpen/Matimba

You are survived by your Father/Uncle Hairy Belly, Your Sister/littermate Purple Eye and your offspring.

Rest now big man, your patrol is over.

Yeah, after the fight with the Mbiri, that killed the lioness and two cubs, Koppies is down to one female with 5 cubs. But, you're right, there hasn't been much coming out regarding the final Koppies female and those 5 cubs since then. I hope they didn't get found by the Mbiris as well.

I couldn't be more agree, Very sad news,He was a good looking lion!
You have following the lions for over 10 years,And,You have followed to Junior since as a cub,Devastating!.
Definitely, The lions dynamics in Manyeleti with the death of Junior will changed a lot,Especially for Buddy, Koppies, and Mbiri pride.
Although, Could sound hard and cool blood. These should be good news for the Red road male, As the Orpen males could have been a big problem for him

No I'm pretty sure the Talamati Male that partnered with the Mangheni is also a son of Ndunha but it's still sad news. Thankfully his legacy lives in the Skorro pride and we will see if it will remain in the Koppies and Mbiri.

Who knows,In my personal opinion,This Talamati male doesn't look much to Nduna. He perhaps has a mixture of HB and Nduna. For example,Junior was Nduna JR at first glance and always!

No I believe this Talamati Male definetly looks like Ndunha. The Deleporte Talamati looks like HB. I don't believe Junior is an exact copy of Ndunha and neither is this Talamati male but both carry his look and mane. The rest of the Matimbas carried very different manes.

Sad news. I was hoping he would make it through.

Years ago I read a book about the Pygmies and a line stuck with me: "If the darkness is, and the darkness is from the forest, then the darkness must be good!"

I hope his cubs and partner make it.

Let's hope! The cubs and Buddy has a tough way to go from now and onwards. Definitely,And without any doubt,The death of Junior had a big impact in the lion dynamics in the Northern Manyeleti
