I think it makes kind of sense. The Tintswalo males are not likely to leave the area alone if they are being pressured into moving south. Especially if they know all that's standing in their way taking the Nharu pride is just one male they already beaten up once.
If they do RRM has the choice to stay and be killed, or flee and try his luck as a nomad. Though if his health is really that bad, it probably wont matter much in the end.

Quote:Hi everyone. To address some of your comments: The last we saw of Red Road he could not stand up with major injuries to he back legs. And we have been unable to find him since then. We are extremely worried about him but always try our best to relay the facts of the situation as much as possible. We don’t want to jump to conclusions and this is why we may seem unemotional. Thanks for all the concern. Alistair.

To me it looks like Tintswalo rangers in the video and comments are describing RRM's condition next day after the fight when he was seen lying at 1 spot and barely walking.
And it looks like they didn't saw him since, otherwise they would prob film him..
So i dont think that info on his condition is recent..

I remember when White Face Giraffe male was mauled by Ross males, he was also sitting in one same spot for days and many believed that injures to his legs he sustained were just too big, he will never walk again and just starve out in that spot and yet at one point he got up and moved and survived so I wouldn't count out Red Road yet. Also guide said they couldn't locate him again so I assume he must have been able to walk away in the end.
What it comes to terrytorial future of Red Road if he survives then I do not see it so bad. Even if Tintswalo males will push him out, he will have possiblitys to shift towards Imbali or towards southern Manyeleti. It is not like young, strong coalitions are all around him.

He looked terrible though, I have seen lions die from less severe injuries. Red road and most lions probably won't get that lucky. Imagine a Darkmane/Redroad coalition though, that would be amazing to see.

I think u could be right. Otherwise, they had a second second fight that we’re not aware of.

It’s been impressive to watch their development in over the past 12 months. They’re really co ing I go their own, especially Mandevu & Ncila.
Ncila and Mandevu are spending a lot of time together and Lambile on his own, although recent sightings were of all 3 together. A clear example of the a different, and well loved coalition by many, the Nharhu coalition did the same ,,Mpohlo and Xitaya" spend a lot of time together, while Skorokoro the limping male struggled to keep with them. Ironically, he is the last man standing. His mane is looking really amazing as per Cathan. Which means that he has been doing well.
*RED ROAD UPDATE* Hi everyone. This is the most recent photograph of Red Road. Tim, the manager at Pungwe, saw him last and he said Red Road had cuts to his back legs and was in a bad way after his fight with the Tintswalo Males. This is not to say that he won't recover, and we are all holding thumbs. We'll be out tracking him the next few days and will keep you updated.
