Red Road male and Nharus on a hunt, ~ two days ago. Red Road trailing behind the lionesses. Reading the description it was close to Pungwe Camp which, to my knowledge, is heart of Nharu pride territory.

Looks like he may have been welcomed back by RRM. (is meant as a joke, given RRM's penchant for such tactics), but he clearly has what appears to be a tooth hole in the top of his head and on the same side of his face.

he had that when he returned to his territory alone without a sign of Ncile....this is why so many of us fear something happened. he showed scars on his face and in his body also. most speculation seem to indicate possibly they lost the battle for the Skorrro pride to the mongawane. would be quite a shame if Ncile lost his final battle after overcoming so much Sad

Yeah, I remember that, but if these are the same wounds, then I'd surmise this video might not be so recent, as that incident happened a couple of weeks back.  Perhaps this video was taken prior to his pairing up with the young Orpen male, but around that same time. I, too, am one of those who are so very concerned for Ncile, for those exact reasons, but things are not looking good for him at the moment. Truly heartbreaking, to think of all he had overcome, to go out now.

He's breeding heavily. Ncile is a warrior, I hope he'll return if alive.

news is about ten days old.   the eldest cub went missing, reportedly killed by conflict w Nharu Pride.  now, this single male cub remains from the youngest litter.

Single Mbiri male cub playing with the subadult male (not the Orpen son, but his younger brother):

5 Imbali lionesses on the Tintswalo virtual safari (at S10 dam if that means anything to anyone). The guide said that these are the lionesses that the Kambula males were mating with, although I'm not sure if that's accurate. He might not be aware of the Imbali breakaway lionesses, which number 4 as far as we know.

Scroll to the right for some recent pictures of the Mbiri pride with the single male cub. Orpen son with them. The older male lion is Mandevu, I think. Mandevu was also recently sighted in Kruger (close to Northern Manyeleti border iirc); not sure what his status is - he seems to be moving from Kruger to Mbiri pride and back lately.

and the post below also has lions in it, I am not so sure who these are, this male is older than the one in the post above, maybe Red Road? With the slight hanging right side of his lip injury / scar he has had for some time now?
