Marlon du Toit: " What an incredible morning here @royalmadikwe as we watched this male lion roar time & time again. Towards the end he was joined by a lioness and both roared together.
He had to stop halfway through to get rid of a thorny branch stuck in his paw ?! Absolutely incredible! SOUND UP for this one & tag a friend who needs a slice of Africa today! "
Marlon du Toit: " Just returned from @royalmadikwe in Madikwe PVT Game Reserve where I spent alot of time with this 11 year old male lion. He was a big lion. Impressive lion. They fed on an elephant for the entire time we were with him and he gave us some great photographic opportunities!"

Seyms Brugger: " A young Lion shows some agressive behavior while the pride was devouring a Buffalo that they had killed earlier in the day.
Table manners go out of the window at kills, and it is not uncommon to see extremely aggressive behavior between them, often resulting in cuts and scrapes across their faces. This is the mighty Kambula Pride of the world famous Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa. They are made up currentky of 22 individuals - a very impressive sight to see indeed ! While a Buffalo may weight up to 950kg, a pride this big makes short work of the kill and are finished within a day. "
Will Burrard-Lucas: " A lion photographed with a camera trap in the Zambezi Region of Namibia for @wwf. Part of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, this is an important wildlife corridor linking together protected areas of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The lions here were really shy and rarely seen by people so camera traps were the only viable way to photograph them. Flehmen can start from the smallest scent low at ground level... I like the body mouvement that is implied; the neck becoming lifted to heaven, making the body more elongated. A possibility for us to see muscles appearing under the skin.
But after... The embrace is short and, just after the orgasm, the male has also to avoid a possible scratch. And this, 3 times per hour during 2 or 3 days. 
1/2 Kwena pride males or better known as the fierce Mahiwa boys, who at only 5 years old have the largest territory in the Madikwe Game Reserve!
